Saw this old ad pop up in a facebook group for vintage Toronto photos, etc. This was an option 100+ years ago.

Probably similar to Simmenthal which my dad used to eat thanks to his military service in Italy during the 1950's. He never lost the "taste" for it. 😬

How does this rate with Vegemite?

Good, thinly sliced tongue is still a Jewish deli favorite, alongside corned beef, brisket, and pastrami, of course.

Canned could be pretty gross.

If you ever see lengua on the menu at a Mexican restaurant, it’s beef tongue. Pretty tasty tacos, in my opinion.

If I see tongue on any menu, I will order it. Love it!

Green Peppercorn in Sydney made a brilliant BBQ Ox tongue laotian style. Superb!

Love it too. Super tender. Easy to make at home. Here in NJ/NY metro area, supermarkets have a cold cut (deli) version available to eat on sandwiches.

Used to live near a Japanese restaurant that did ox tongue a bit like sizzling steak (they had a name for it but I can't remember). Always the first thing I ordered.

Lengua tacos. They don't suck.

Tsung (tongue in yiddish), sliced thin on dark rye with horseradish is quite common in some communities.

It’s like gizzard, only better!
