BrightonCorgi Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 Love all of this. Great idea and I hope consumers take to it.
Popular Post Chibearsv Posted November 19, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 19, 2024 $2650 to be disappointed in myself doesn't sound like good value to me. I'll let Hamlet, Rob, and the Cauldron do the blending for me. 7 1
JohnS Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 I agree, having the option of acquiring cigars blended by Hamlet very much appeals to me; however, just knowing that a company is willing to offer specially-made bespoke cigars is a good thing for me. 4

Li Bai Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 I think it's a great idea but doing it online doesn't appeal to me though, how could it be done without seeing, smelling, touching and tasting the leaves 🤔 Some plans appear perfect in your head and then reality strikes. 3 1

If part of it was sending out the 5-6 different samples of the consumer chosen blends and they settle on one for final production. 1

It would be a good start but I think even 5 or 6 samples would be far from enough, plus you would have to let each sample rest for a bit... @El Presidente could tell us more about that but I assume it would need dozens of failed blends to hit it right (of course it all depends on how one would define "hit it right") 🤔 I'd really like to take part in a blending process, what a journey it must be 🤓
Joeyjojo Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 Could be a nice thing for a wedding? Create a blend to smoke for the night and then each anniversary?
JohnS Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 J.C. Newman Cigar Co. Introduces the Personal Reserve Program November 20, 2024 - Press Release For four generations and 129 years, J.C. Newman Cigar Co. has been blending some of the finest cigars in the world. J.C. Newman now invites cigar connoisseurs to do the same through its new Personal Reserve Program. Guided by a master blender, cigar enthusiasts can create their own personal blends or select from a staff blend. J.C. Newman will hand roll these cigars at its iconic El Reloj cigar factory in the “Cigar City” of Tampa, Florida. After aging, these special cigars will be wrapped with custom cigar bands and packed in personalized leather cabinet humidors. “This is the ultimate holiday gift for cigar aficionados,” said fourth-generation owner Drew Newman. “As cigar makers, it is a privilege and pleasure to create new blends using the best tobaccos in the world. I have met so many wonderful and passionate cigar enthusiasts, and I want to offer them the opportunity to do the same.” J.C. Newman has curated a selection of 24 world-class cigar tobaccos grown in 9 different countries from its tobacco library. Cigar connoisseurs can use them to create millions of unique cigar blends. Custom blended cigars are offered in a package of four personalized leather cabinet humidors containing a total of 80 custom cigars for a total price of $2,400. Cigars rolled with a staff blend are available in a personalized leather cabinet humidor containing 20 cigars with custom bands for $500. “This unique program is possible because J.C. Newman has the best of both worlds: our boutique El Reloj cigar factory in Tampa, Florida that can hand craft 80 perfect bespoke cigars and our large PENSA cigar factory in Esteli, Nicaragua that has a vast library of aged cigar tobaccos that I have cherrypicked,” said Newman. Creating a custom-blended cigar begins with an in-person or virtual consultation with a master blender who will guide the cigar connoisseur in creating a personal blend. Next, J.C. Newman will prepare the luxury cigar tobaccos selected, and a master roller will hand roll them. The cigars will be aged in El Reloj’s underground aging room to the customer’s specifications. Lastly, they will be wrapped with custom cigar bands and packed in personalized leather cabinet humidors. Throughout this journey, J.C. Newman will share photos documenting the creation of these special cigars. From start to finish, the process will take at least six months. “Each blend created will be stored in our family’s blend book,” said Newman. “If someone blends a custom cigar for their wedding, we will be able to recreate it later to celebrate the birth of a child or another one of life’s milestones.” To maintain the highest quality, this program is limited to 10 participants per month. For more information, visit J.C. Newman’s Personal Reserve Program website or create your own custom blend virtually with J.C. Newman’s unique online Blending Tool. BoliDan Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 I would be down if I could test the blend and make adaptations, but just being stuck with 80 shit cigars. I'm good.
Chitmo Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 You’d have to be very good or very lucky for this to yield good results. 1
mikejh Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 Calculating how many Jose Piedras I could buy with $2650.
