99call Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 So...it's obviously unfortunate I cannot find a properly legible copy of this (although I can work out most of it), it is still cool to find this. As I was tracking through it. I saw an item in the Partagas field worth '290'. If we look at the fact, (whichever way you crack it). This is worth well over 3 times a 'Belinda Diademas'. (A very high end brand at the time.) What on earth was this Partagas cigar beginning with P? Surely it would have to be a 'Visible Inmenso' in size? Calling all Columbos!

I know I have been looking at the catalog Alex has from the 50s. I can't seem to find anything. It's a short word and really expensive! 1

riderpride Posted September 3, 2024 Posted September 3, 2024 Might be best solved if someone were to read a Spanish dictionary without their glasses. Not Columbo, but perhaps Poirot. Good luck Cheers 2

I saw it in a 1945 US Federal Register, which lays out the maximum sale prices for various imported goods. The document is almost as unreadable as your one, but from what I gather the Plaza doesn't seem to be an especially expensive stick. Other potentials: Partagás Filipos (34x125) Partagás Palmas (32x178) Partagás Patrias (42x135) Partagás Perlas Partagás Petits Partagás Princes (42x111) I don't know 1930s pricing on any of those, but none seem especially special to me. So in conclusion: no help, sorry.🤪 1 1 1
Puros Y Vino Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Stumbled upon this while searching for something else. Used some AI image enhancers but that didn't make the text more legible. Quite the opposite. Turned letters into hieroglyphs. 😶 All I can make out is that the first two letters are "P" and "L". The lists are alphabetical per Marca. This mystery item sits between "Petit Corona" and "Principe". The last letter appears to be either an "M" or "N". Total characters are 5/6 max. A quick search for Spanish words starting in "PL" didn't show any clear candidates. Search results Any potential names from our Spanish speaking members? 1
