I didn't realize the Olympics started, but I'm really impressed that Hong Kong athletes got 2 gold and 1 bronze, LOL!

There were a few examples of athletes refusing to shake hands with their competitors over political issues. Very low class.

Like many hadn't realized it had actually started. And yeah, for me, I don't really give a hoot.

I think it has lost its Bling these days. Like BMX racing etc. umm, please 🙄.

No offence but I don't consider that Olympic sports. Definitely not traditional.

I used to love the Olympics but can't stand all the ads and MSM "news" bulletins interwined in it. Bread & circuses. I'll circle back in a decade or so...hopefully.

I love them. We watched the opening ceremonies. What I really love are the sports I don’t normally watch. So far I have seen Judo, archery, kayaking, mountain biking, and swimming. Probably others I have forgot. 

To top it off, this years US Men’s basketball team is arguable the best team to ever take a court. 

Edit: if my wife hadn’t mentioned they started I would have missed them.

definitely these guys for me.

must admit when i saw our friend suggest the current crop as best ever, it reminded me of the old statement (i think from JFK) about some dinner in the white house (forgive me, i forget the exact situation) filled with the best and brightest minds of all time, and i think Kennedy said it was the greatest collection of minds ever assembled in the white house, with the except of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone. 

i thought, yeah, the current crop might be the best ever with the exception of any team that had Michael Jordan in it.

Hope Kennedy didn’t include himself in that group. It took his son 4 times to pass the bar exam.

I will say this. I have watched many games of the ‘dream team’.  When they went to the games it was epic, just epic. 

I stand by my statement that the current team could be ‘arguably’ the best team assembled. I have watched both teams play and I think it is a close race. 

MJ is probably the tie breaker.
