Punch Triunfos - A new addition to the Retro line, finally to be released in 2024...

The Punch Triunfos, an addition to the Retro line that was first announced in 2020, is to be finally released in 2024. According to Cuban Cigar Website, it comes in a dress box of 50 cigars in 10 aluminium tins of 5.

Cuba has added a new size to its venerable Punch line, a petit corona called the Punch Triunfos. The cigar will first go on sale in Switzerland’s Casa del Habano stores on May 3, according to Habanos S.A., then they will move to a broader launch starting in December. 

The little smoke measures 5 1/8 inches long by 42 ring gauge. They will sell for 80 Swiss francs ($91) for a tin of five cigars, making them roughly $18 apiece. 

The Triunfos are the newest part of Cuba’s Línea Retro line, a series of cigars packed in snazzy, eye-catching aluminium containers modeled after designs from the 1970s. That line made its debut in the fall of 2017, when two sizes in the series—the Romeo y Julieta Club Kings and the Partagás Capitols—were unveiled at a trade fair in Havana.

Other sizes in the Retro series include the H. Upmann Regalias and the Hoyo de Monterrey Souvenir de Luxe.

For that price I sure hope they are using quality leaf! Certainly hasn't been the case in other Linea Retro lines. Not bad cigars if priced right.

I have always kept them inside tins in my cabinet.

I always split them up. 50 or ten break them up. I find cigars stored in tubes for a few years a vastly different.  With only a couple of years usually better. 

In Australia I am constantly buying 5ivers of tubos to store. Partagas Coronas Senior it tubes are the bomb.

I have a box of RYJ Churchill been aged almost 5 years in tubos.

I am two tins away (1 Upmann, one HdM) from having 3 complete sets! I look at it like collecting Matchbox cars. 🙄

I have about 15 Tins of the Regalias and about 15 Tins of The Capitols. Quality has been outstanding.

I've had two of the Triunfos now. First one was firmly in the mild category with savory flavors of hay, grass, and a little bit of twang. A double-lite version of the Punch Punch. The second was mild-medium, but a muddled mess of very-slightly bitter flavors. I've never had one of the cheaper Coronations, but I'm struggling to imagine it could be worse.

I've had a few - pretty underwhelming. Perhaps they were too young. For the price - and for a PC they aren't exactly cheap - in Punch I'd rather go regular Corona Gorda or SdP. The most lackluster of the Linea Retro in my book, while I quite like the others.
