This cigar is a Robusto from 2014. The wrapper is colorado in color and has some darker splotches here and there. Aroma at cold is a hint of barnyard and a touch of apple. Dry draw note is tobacco.

After I clip and light it I notice a sweet cherry note right off the bat. After a few more puffs a cream note joins in. The profile of this cigar is very sweet, almost dessert-like, with the cherry note being like cherry in candy of cola, not like the taste of the fruit directly. The draw provides just a bit of resistance and produces a lot of smoke, just the way I like it. The burn is a little wonky, but nothing I have touched up with the torch yet. Light-medium in body so far. Close to the end of the 1/3 an almond and nougat are noted on the retrohale.

The 2/3 starts with the cherry fading and the nougat and cream note taking front seat of the flavor train. The body picks up to just about medium. The almond note is now presenting as a roasted almond note. Still a very sweet cigar, a hint of roasted coffee enters the mix while the retrohale is still rich with cream and nougat notes. Every few puffs seem to offer a little different spin on the flavors, very complex.

When I get to the final third the cherry note comes back in force with a hint of rosemary on the finish and retrohale. The roasted almond and coffee notes are still lingering in the background, mostly on the long finish, mostly it is the cherry and cream that are the star of the show. As I finish up the cigar the roasted coffee note comes to the front and fades a few more times.

This cigar was amazing from start to finish. The second and last third had a blend of sweet and roasted notes that played together very well and provided a great deal of complexity to the cigar.

It was a JL Seleccíon no 2

Damn, I thought the cherry cola reference would give it away, but everyone went to RyJ :(
