You see it with wine,

You see it with Rum

You see it with Tequila, Cognac, Brandy, Whisky etal

Pure marketing or a truly concerted effort to "match"

I've tried a few wines with "Cigar" in the name. Not sure it was an effort to provide a pairing experience vs a way to drive home the "tobacco" or "Cigar box" notes of a wine.  I've seen Hine Cigar blend Cognac. Tried it. Was OK. Regular Hine was a better pairing IMO.  I've seen a Scotch or two IIRC as well.  Never tried them.

Can we get a running list of wines/spirits with "Cigar" in the name going here?

Some of you might recognize this HTF one as well.  (courtesy of Nino (RIP))

It's an attempt to match with what they have on hand.  I don't feel anything is true match to cigar smoke.  The best beverage with a cigar is water.

Dalmore  Cigar single malt was the first I remember seeing, a few years back.

for me, regular Dalmore was a better pairing.

Hah! I came here to post exactly this.  The Cigar Malt was my least favorite pairing from all the Dalmore's I've tried.

I think it is no coincidence that basically all "cigar" scotches are strongly sherried. Final result / pricing may vary but I think there is some effort to give it a larger body and make it sweeter

On top of the Dalmore already mentioned -
