Rhinoww Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 Hoping to be in Rome in a bit. Any recent updates on stores/stock? will also be in Sorrento and Amalfi but figure that is a much longer shot. Would love to pick up a few singles (regionals if they can be found), but will pack a few of my own in case we end up in Tuscany before I can find anything local. It’ll be vacation so I’ll hold my nose on pricing for something vacation Worthy 1

Popular Post khrist_ Posted May 16, 2023 Popular Post Posted May 16, 2023 Was in Rome and Tuscany 2 weeks ago and had zero luck in Rome. However Tabaccheria Il Chiasso Largo in Siena I struck gold and found a jar of RA Noellas and some SCdlH El Morro. 5
SMELTZ Posted May 17, 2023 Posted May 17, 2023 I just back from Rome a week ago. Talked to multiple owners in Venice and Rome and Rome doesn’t have any Cuban cigars. LCDH Fincato has nothing to sell and he has a group of buyers that he saves his boxes for when they come in. Venice has some if you want to take a 4 hour high speed train ride, but House of Cigars is not selling any boxes due to the cuban cigar shortage and they only sell 5 cigars max which is where I picked up my Partagas Aliados. Bought the last two they had. 1 2
Popular Post Rhinoww Posted May 23, 2023 Author Popular Post Posted May 23, 2023 Stock on my trip has been better than I expected, but still sucked. The duty free in Paris terminal 2F on my way to Rome had a two door humi that was filled w cigars. The top half on each side had CC. beyond the siglos (mostly smaller sizes), coro, and Trins there were quite a few RyJ from romeo 1 and 2 to Mille fluer. Also HUHC and a few boxes of the higaldos. Nothing was of interest and prices were high so I passed. Amalfi coast started quite spotty. Ravella had a Tobachi w siglo tubos singles and some Romeo’s. But Capri. Capri has a Tabachi off of the main square called Della Monica. It looked promising from the outside w cigar ashtrays and lighters. Indeed, a great collection of singles. Pretty much the full spectrum available as singles. JL2, RA, Connie 1 and 2, A and B. Full siglo line. Coro. I asked about regional singles. Nope, but a jar of noellas was available. I was also offered a box of Cohiba 55 anniversary when I asked about boxes of ten. I was moving quickly on, as I didn’t have much time and wanted to pick up singles of things I had not had before. I didn’t pay much attention to costs as I was focused on getting singles of things I have not tried - did not want to mess w customs. None of the singles I purchased were over 20 euros. But the cohiba 55’s, those were a cool $3,000 Euros. I passed. They had a number of boxes for sale I could see as well HU2, RA, Party p2. Prices were high for me given when I last purchased boxes was some time ago but seemed very fair given current conditions especially for singles. 89.50 euros for the five sticks in the photo. Been looking to try each of these but wasn’t ready to commit to a box. Singles were perfect. I did notice a number of the feet on the sticks in the pullout single trays had some cracks. I pointed to the sticks I wanted and the very knowledgeable salesperson quickly realized I had at least a basic understanding of cigars and was happy to oblige w sticks in good shape. I have no idea where they stand re humidification nor do I know the age of the sticks. Will have to assume They are all relatively fresh and over humidified. They will get some rest before I try one. I came home w some kind of cold so it will be a few days before I smoke anything anyway. Rome was a different story. Went to Fincato on 5/18. They did not have a single Cuban CC. I was told that a shipment was coming in on 5/19. They also mentioned that their supply had been very poor for some time. I asked about regionals, and he laughed … they have had a hard enough time getting regular production. Sad but true. Saw one other Tobac in Rome w Vigia tubos for 56 euros. I passed. That was pretty much it for CC that I saw in Rome or up in Tuscany. Will I regret not having bought more singles in Capri? Maybe, but in the end we were covering so much ground each day I didn’t have time for a single cigar on this 10 day trip. On the return trip via CDG, the cigar cave in 2E M had a few boxes of PC, one box of HU No2 and a smattering of small sticks. Beyond the davidoff shelves, the room was pretty bare. Not even much Cohiba or Trin. They did have Lagavulin 16 at 50 euros for a 750ml, so at least I didn’t leave duty free empty handed. Best advice I can give you if you are going to Italy is bring your own sticks. 12 3
etout00 Posted May 24, 2023 Posted May 24, 2023 I’m hoping to get some suggestions….I’ll be Milan, Lake Como area and Volterra (Tuscany) in October….hoping to see if anyone has any suggestions on good cigar shops. Im ‘assuming’ the Lake Como area might be promising given the clientele that frequent there.
Popular Post dominattorney Posted May 24, 2023 Popular Post Posted May 24, 2023 I just hit Florence and up from tropea there was nothing. Toscano for the win, all day. Cut them in half so you have a snack after lunch every day for that post Ragu bollognese obligatory walk. I brought my own CCs but honestly, the toscanos have been hitting the spot. 6
jschrader510 Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 Was just in Naples and scored a box of the Noella regional at Sisimbro. They had a decent amount of singles for sale, a box of Leyendas, and other odds and ends. Most of the REs, LEs and Behike were reserved. Was eyeing the Leyenda until I realized they are now €1,400 a box…Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
GoodStix Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 Was just at LCDH Rome. Almost no stock. What little they did have was low end RyJ, Capitols, and Reyes. Staff disheartened with the lack of supply. Little joy in the job anymore. One bright light was they just received a small amount of Cuaba Distinquidos. Snagged a box. BRM ENE 23. There’s still some left if you’re interested. As an aside, my wife and I finally crossed Rome off the bucket list. Fantastic city. Stunning food and Barolos in Trastevere. Great experience, highly recommend. Hope you’re all well. Ciao : ) 1 1
etout00 Posted September 10, 2023 Posted September 10, 2023 I’ll be in Lake Como, Volterra, Florence, Sienna and at the Milan airport…I’ll update this post if I find any inventory. How were the prices? Inflated, about average, at suggested retail?
Wookie Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 Headed to Rome tonight. Any LCDH advice/info appreciated!!! 1
Wookie Posted October 25, 2023 Posted October 25, 2023 Headed to Fincato LCDH this morning….will give an update. Fingers crossed. 1 1
gcman68 Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 I was there for the Ryder Cup and was able to buy some stock, but was told that had I been an hour earlier or later, I likely would have been out of luck. Good luck hunting! 1
GaryK 54 Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 I was in Fincato LCDH two weeks ago. No stock of CC - just empty SLB. A smattering of NC. The owner was expecting a shipment of CC the following week, but was doubtful if there would be much to choose from. 1
Wookie Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 Yep…I hit Fincato Wednesday morning….nothing in stock. They said stop back afternoon or next morning and might receive a shipment. I was only in Rome for a few days so didn’t get back. Nice shop though and nice people! I did buy an Andalusian Bull cigar (LFD), which I had never tried before. It was well balanced and graham cracker tasty. Paid 28 euros for it.
