I was reading of Smoky's cigar bar Bloomfield Hills adding a golf simulator.  Their club is membership fee based and no doubt the golf angle would appeal to a percentage of the club.

Most of us have experienced the traditional Cigar Lounge offerings. In most cases there is  nothing wrong with them at all. Traditional, functional.

However what if you could "redesign, reimagine " the cigar lounge.  You are building your own place and I will supply.

Thinking outside of the box, what would you include?

A room to rent out for friends and private gatherings (poker night at the lounge etc)

Office area for those who work remotely

Dog friendly area outdoors nothing like saying you are taking the dog out and sneaking in a nice smoke

Work space, lounge space, bar-cocktail space.

Agreed - I was thinking modular, but having designated spaces works well too.  Also I’ll add in the golf simulator and we can set me up for membership.

Majong rooms seems to be a very popular option in China.
If I were to think outside the box it'd probably be a cigar lounge attached to a Chiropractor/massage therapy clinic. It's good for those who sit all day at the office, at home, and at a hmmm... cigar lounge perhaps? It's a weekly/bi-weekly visit anyway so why not do both at the same place?

@Edwhatever's post got my mind ticking. Here in Colorado there are several Strip Clubs attached to/shared ownership with Strip Clubs. I've heard they Mint money. I wouldn't be a regular attendee, but I have a feeling a cigar bar, that just happened to have some "Adult Entertainment" would mint money too.

Similar to the morning train commute for those who travel to work, I’d like a “quiet car” portion of the lounge.

Sometimes I just don’t feel like chatting for whatever reason. Maybe I just want to read a book or do some work on my computer… I wish I could do that without the pressure of having to engage everyone who walks in looking to have a convo.

At other times, that’s exactly what I’m looking to do.

My lounge has a golf sim and I’ve built up probably a hundred unused hours on it at this point - not part of the attraction for me.

Asian KTV

Or, a membership club. Fixed monthly fees with cigars and whiskies sold at (close to) cost. Strictly no takeaways. A mix of private / communal space.

My lounge has a lot of the features mentioned here. However, would give it up for the atrium idea of @99call

Members area is 2 floors with a B&M on first floor. Quiet room is the quiet room unless reserved for an event. BYOB with on-site storage for that and cigars by way of locker. Club is owned by a developer that owns 4 restaurants on the block, so you can get meals brought to you from any of those 4 at a member rate (ranging from Italian, bbq, new american/farm to table). Billiards and a room for poker on the third floor. Really nice front patio which I love in the summer (going back to our discussions about preferring cigars outside). Usually pretty shielded from the wind.

Would love a golf simulator though, but I also have that at my gym. Probably better that I keep spending more time at the gym than the lounge..

Offer a high end hand car wash "spa" or detailing services.  What's better to do than have a cigar while watching your pride and joy be detailed or washed!
