I just got a box of 2017 H. Upmann petit coronas, and I didn’t even realize they have been discontinued. I was wondering if they are special? They have really beautiful dark wrappers. Also, I was just curious, it seems that H. Upmann is the only Habanos marca that does double caps on some of their cigars, but not all of them? Thanks

Why? They are legitimate. Everything about the box, and the cigars checks out to be real

Agree. I only listen to Eminem and Vanilla Ice.

HUPC were a very popular cigar here. Their discontinuation was lamented by many. The blend was frequently compared to the HU No. 2. It was an extremely high quality Petit Corona.

All Cuban handmade long filler parejo cigars should have a triple cap. There may be some exceptions for unusually small RGs like the PLMC but certainly any global brand cigar with a RG of 42+ will have it.

If you watch the videos and photos carefully, you’ll see that a lot of H Upmann have double caps

I've never heard the term "double cap" except when describing a cigar that is capped on both ends which isn't common. As far as I know there is only a single cap or triple cap technique.

2016 MEG was the last box code. Was there 17's?

How much did you pay approximately? And why buy something blind you have never smoked before? Just curious

There is nothing proprietary about H Upmann. They are rolled by the same rollers that make other brands. FYI

Here's a TOS ENE 17 box from BR:

I don't recall seeing any not rolled at HU but I guess they were rolling some at La Corona.

I could see someone buying it blind as it's a safe, classic global brand PC that only an insider would know is worth more than is typical for a 5 year old standard PC. I'm sure there are a few LCDHs that have some boxes buried and wouldn't know exactly what they have. Not like it's hidden treasure or anything but I would think the average vendor would assume they would sell for maybe $250 when current market seems to be about $400 for 16-17 boxes.

Nor have I. In any case, I am down to my last half dozen or so of these and I will miss them. Not aware of any after 2016 but hey, it's Cuba, Jake..

I also bought a box blind as they were recommended by another FOH member.  Mine are TOS Nov.-16, purchased from Bond Roberts.  I hope these things are real, they taste pretty darn good!
