Do you think it's better to move cigars from cardboard packaging into old spare cigar boxes (assuming the boxes were properly humidified)?

I've recently purchased cigars in cardboard packaging that I plan to smoke occasionally and age over the next 6 years or so. I've read on here and feel that the consensus for aging cigars is to remove from cardboard packs and place into your humidor. Do you guys think there is any harm or benefit to placing these into old cigar boxes?

My plan would be to place these empty boxes into my humidor for several months to ensure they are brought up to the correct humidity before placing the cigars in.

There’s only upside to doing this IMO - an original wood box is far superior storage than cardboard in every way.

I recently received some.10 year old RG Perlas that were in cardboard. They are fine. But personally I don't have that much experience as I tend to store either loose in trays or in boxes.

I unpackage the CPs and put the loose cigars in one of the drawers I have in the wineador.  Only downside is once they are available in the drawer, they tend to go fast.  Transferring to a box instead might slow me down enough to leave them alone for a while  😁

I second this 😄 Have always just put them in a drawer in my humidor.
