Juan Lopez #4 PRA JUN10 (TPRW)

It’s been fun and rewarding following this cigar’s progress over the years. I was a huge JL PC smoker until my dear friends at HSA took that away from me. Fortunately a decade ago I took Rob’s advice and jumped on the JL #2 bandwagon. I bought a box of #4’s when they were released and was smart enough to try them early. It was a good cigar, but there was a big flavor of something I liked but couldn’t nail down. Reminded me of tasting a great young Sauternes, sleeping beauty. So I did what any crazed cigar lover would do...ordered more boxes. For me it took about 7 years for this cigar to let me out of the waiting room and into the office, it’s been worth the wait.

Cigar is nicely filled at 14.2 g with a smooth dark colorado wrapper. The foot has an exotic floral aroma, draw is fine with a sweet woody toasted tobacco and Cointreau flavor. A cigar you could just suck on all day and be happy....I almost don’t want to light it👻

Opening puffs are tangerine and creamy oats that turn into orange spongecake. A little walnut comes in, then it’s honeysuckle and toasted tobacco with middle eastern spice. Cigars don’t get any better than this, fantastically rich flavor. Time for a little glass of Cointreau with this ride!  

It’s medium bodied and as rich and delicious as I could want. Makes me feel very lucky smoking such a beautiful cigar. Cointreau is perfect, adds some earthy licorice flavor and turns this cigar into an orange creamsicle. Very lucky to have a bunch more E ticket rides with this cigar to come.

Nice review! I bought two boxes from Czar when they came out. All gone now but I felt they were the best JL I had smoked. Was also a fan of JLPC

Fantastic review thanks. Was fortunate to have this cigar suggested to me to try at a PCC cigar lounge In Hong Kong back 2010. Recall it as been a delicious smoke.

I feel like the more JL I smoke, the more I am ready to concede it as my only marca if I had to just have one.

Agree 100% though. If only I could get my hands on the lcdh JL...for research

These were always going to be a great cigar. You just weren't sure if it was going to be 5, 7 or 10 years. 

You nailed it. They are rich and complex. Just a bloody gorgeous smoke.

Have half a box left and they just keep getting better. Have a clean tangy citrus element to them combined with a rich spicy tobacco note, very unusual in my experience but bloody fantastic.
