Question for FOH members:  I have two boxes of Partagas D4 2021… Same box code OER ABR 21 but very different wrapper colour. Which is the best one to age? Lighter or darker? My instinct says the darker one but wanted to hear your opinions, since I’m not sure. These 21’s have been smoking so well I haven’t noticed a difference in taste/body so far.. so your opinions are welcome - thanks!

Darker. The wrappers are darker due to longer fermentation, which means more oils and sugars in the leaf. Overtime those properties will marry. But these are smoking the house down so it’s hard to age any of them lol.

I would repack 12 of each for a deep sleep, especially if they are the same code.

Edited: make it 13 of each after taking out the wooden spacer.

3 days ago I received two 10 ct boxes with the same code/date. Was wondering the same thing…

Makes me happy I got a few boxes of the recent runs of SD4 so I can choose one that gets lost in the back of the humidor for a bit. The PSP from our host (on the right) are much deeper/darker than my other box. Definitely the one that will get a lot more time. Excited to see how they develop!
