Odd pairings

We all have our go-to pairings with our favourite stogies. Whether that is a nice whisky, rum, or coffee. Some may also opt for something a little less orthodox - a pale ale, fine wine or cola brand of choice.

What I'm interested in though are odd pairings you've tried, and more importantly ones that work! 

I'll start. A few years ago I ended up having a young RyJ petit Churchill on the move and the nearest place for a drink to have with it was a Starbucks. For reasons that escape me now I ended up having an eggnog latte. Sweet cream went perfectly with the more bitter, spice and woody notes....I promise

I can imagine this works. Have never tried tonic (or gin) but some swear by it. Sautter in the UK launched a gin specifically designed for cigar pairings

Wowsers! Thanks for the tip El Prez, that sounds mad. Was going to say I've never heard I'd this stuff but apparently it's £20 at the local Tesco... image it also might go well with my Punch 48s

Plain hot black tea with Siglo III.  The slight bitterness in the tea brings out more sweetness in the cigar.

Nice! The sophisticated version of a fag and cup of builders tea. Matcha is also apparently v good

Not really a chai, just a nice herbal tea. To me it's nice and rich, with cinnamon, clove, ginger and a little cardamom flavor. It's really nice.

tang is not carbonated

it's been mentioned before, but orange fanta and cigars is fantastic. not terribly odd though given the orange juice tests conducted previously.

I don't think he is.  I'm a fan of Fresca with cigars.  There's something about the citrus that goes well.

This is one that sounds like a joke but I'm sure would work well as both Weiss bier and some rums have a fair amount of banana flavour and I've paired them before

ha, no, not at all. i really enjoy orange fanta with a cigar, though i feel it works better with stronger or nicaraguan cigars.

this is the testing i was referring to:

it was interesting to see that orange juice was so highly rated.

I'm glad that meal bloody Mary fad is over. It was amusing for a few months, and I love a bloody Mary something fierce, but there's just overkill.
