MoeFOH Posted February 9, 2022 Posted February 9, 2022 Going to check out Kenneth Branagh's remake of Death on the Nile tonight. I'm a big sucker for an ensemble cast whodunnit. But that format, whodunnit or otherwise, can often let down rather than lift up in comparison to the acting talent assembled. I thought Knives Out was a great win for the genre in recent times. I'd love to put together a list and watch some more... What are your favourite whodunnits, ensemble or otherwise? What are the biggest duds to avoid? Post 'em up! 4

I really enjoyed 'Knives Out' as well. But I have a bit of a weak spot for Ana de Armas. Boy am I glad she was able to get off the island! 5

99call Posted February 9, 2022 Posted February 9, 2022 looks good, but what on earth are French & Saunders doing in it?
Chibearsv Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 The new Murder on the Orient Express was very good too. Maybe not whodunnits but my favorite ensemble movies are Glengarry Glen Ross and The Usual Suspects. 1
SigmundChurchill Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 I was addicted to Agatha Christie books as a kid. Death On the Nile was great, and I loved the original movie. This remake looks interesting. I loved Orient Express, but I wasn't crazy about the remake with Johnny Depp. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be Ten Little Indians / And Then There Were None. I remember seeing it in movie form a long time ago. I think it was in black and white if I remember correctly. And they changed the ending from the book, which I wasn't happy about. 1
