Question for the Zoom professionals

In the process of setting up another FOH Zoom room but since we last set it up (March 20) the rules appear to have changed. 

What we need is nothing fancy. 

• Room operates 24./7
• Passkey protected 
• Members can drift in and out as long as they have the pass key. 

We have a spare paid zoom account that we can use but I am having trouble getting the above mix set up. 

If we can't do it on Zoom then suggestions for the above format are welcome

Top stuff. I always thought Zoom had a time limit for meetings. Hopefully it works. Also found that you have trouble with Zoom when you don't do the upgrades. Cheers

Zoom does have a 40min time limit for the basic free membership. They took of that limit only for schools and in select countries. Pro can be active for 24hrs.

Yes, Zoom can definitely handle this, please no Teams. I have way more connectivity/lag issues with Teams and the quality is often worse.

Or, you can use the “personal meeting code” like an open room if you’re looking for another way.

You still need to set up the meeting correctly. Free accounts will time out in 40min, paid licences time out after 30hrs. By setting up the meeting how I explained, that will keep the meeting active and available to anyone with the link or meeting ID and passcode. And the Host (ie Rob) will not be required to start the meeting.

I think I was coming at it from a slightly different angle with the PMI/link instead of a meeting. But if setting a recurring meeting, your suggestions were spot on!

Then you should have one room and assign alternates to open the room in addition to you.

or leave it open permanently and avoid the middle man. 

99% of regular users will have the passcode by the end of the week.  

It is up and running. It should flow well.

Not sure if you got this worked out yet but if not here’s the settings I use- should be roughly what @Fuzz recommends but this way you can just go down the list and copy each setting.

Sounds like I’ll need to join a zoom soon. Who wants to be in the 1%?
