Duxnutz Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 Let’s hope they call me for a Vegas trip. Kinda looks like a place you’d find in the Middle East. I regularly go to a lounge up past the Sahara but will give this a try next time I go there. Hopefully not stuffy enough that can’t have a chat. 1

Chibearsv Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 I heard they shut down Rhumbar in Vegas which was my favorite spot for a smoke. Too bad, it was a very comfortable place for a cold beverage and a smoke outside. If this new place has a nice patio and doesn't make me feel like I need to be a secret handshake club member, I'll give it a try. 2

Cigar Surgeon Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 Yeah Rhumbar is gonzo. I didn't get a chance to visit Eight until the last night of TPE and by that point after 6 days in Vegas I was completely wiped so I called an audible and just had a cigar at Casbar. Everyone who went said it was gorgeous and the outside it configured well with a nice open space and heaters. I also did hear that a cigar plus two drinks is going to be $100 to get you started. 1 3
BrightonCorgi Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 At least you can bring your own cigars and a bottle of wine or port will keep the bar tab down to a reasonable amount for the time spent. Looks like with Wally's in the same hotel; the wine list should be on point.

I got to be very friendly with a couple staff members there before the pandemic hit. They reopened it briefly, for maybe 3 months in late 2020, then shut it down completely. It was slated to be some stupid Bruno Mars "Ultra Lounge" then MGM's REIT sold the Mirage property to the Seminole Indians who are going to turn it into a Hard Rock. MGM is still operating it, but not for long. Again, a huge bummer, I really enjoyed the Mirage. It was like a Mini Bellagio for 1/3rd the price. The Volcano in the front and the area where Rhumbar was are the base of what will be the new Guitar shaped Hotel Tower. So its probably gone forever. I loved being able to smoke outside. Montecristo, in Ceaser's is still a good spot. I've been a loyal MGM player since I was 21, but they recently crushed their rewards/comp system, so I'm excited to check out Resorts World in general. Zaxeiler Posted February 8, 2022 Posted February 8, 2022 Company’s annual meeting is in Vegas this fall. I’ll have to add some of these places to my list.
wine_junkie Posted February 8, 2022 Posted February 8, 2022 It’s not a bad spot. Great looking women servers dressed appropriately and a decent cigar selection with comfortable chairs. A touch of class, no doubt but I enjoyed my time bellied up to the bar at Montecristo in Caesar’s Palace. Better cigars in my opinion as well… 1
