Popular Post oneizzzz Posted October 21, 2021 Popular Post Posted October 21, 2021 Jesus! What a great cigar. Second Cohiba I've had (of 6) where I've "gotten it." First one that really blew me away. Like having sex with a very generous, gentle lover. Hahaha. Just feeling grateful. I've been on a bit of a bender the tail end of this summer. I was in the backcountry for few weeks in September, then a Europe trip with a buddy, then a 5-year college reunion, then in the Utah canyons last week. Quite the romp. Body tired. Mind tired. Feeling weary, I wanted a cigar that would be delicious and soothing. Got back to Idaho Sunday night and have been soaking like a slug in the local hot springs. Picked out a Siglo VI to light up yesterday after a soak. I was lucky to score this box of El Laguito Siglo VI in April of this year. I smoked one ROTT and it was underwhelming. I'm pretty sure it was over-humidified, as the burn was wonky and needed touch ups - flavors were muddled and dark. The burn on yesterday's was nearly perfect. Stored at 65% rh and dry-boxed in the open air of Idaho (35% rh) for about 6 hours. Doughy sourdough dessert buns, blackberries, some strong ginger and cinnamon in the back of my throat on the exhale. Higher notes of cold milk and walnuts. Perfect construction, combustion. On the draw, just enough of a tug needed to engage with the cigar - smoke ready and waiting to pour out. Lovely. One of the best cigars I've had in my rookie career. 93/94. Therapeutic. Listened to Scarlet Begonias > Fire on the Mountain from Cornell as I smoked the first 3rd. Jerry absolutely noodling one + lithium from natural hot springs + great Siglo VI = pretty, pretty, pretty good! 8
Nevrknow Posted October 22, 2021 Posted October 22, 2021 Nothing like a VI. Still trying to get my hands on an aged one. One day. 3
