Box date with asterisk

Has anyone ever seen a box date with an asterisk? If so, any idea what it signifies?

Likely means nothing. Just a worker being creative with the box code. I have seen a star and a dash in between the month and year in a box or two of mine in the past.

I know the cigars are authentic. I just never saw the asterisk before.

I know I have at least one box in my cabinet with asterisk. Dont recall which one.

Yes, I've seen it between the month and year or factory and date before as well. IIRC I saw it more often in the early 2010s.

Never seen it on the end like the OP though. But I would agree--just a worker messing around.
