Popular Post RichG Posted May 12, 2021 Popular Post Posted May 12, 2021 Spring is in full bloom in New York. Early evening was beautiful, light breeze, full sun, 65degF in the backyard. I smoke rather conservatively, and have had about 60 cigars this year to date. This one was hands down the best of the bunch. First smoke from this box from 24:24, which has been resting about a month and a half. Twisted off the pigtail to find a wide open draw. Massive cookie sweetness upon lighting. The cookie became salted about 1/2" in. Salted cookie through the balance of the first third. Second third salt faded in favor of cream, but the cookie remained, pure cookies and cream. Final third developed a light coffee flavor, like a cookie dough latte. In the final draws cookie faded into dark burnt sugar. Absolutely perfect. I could not ask for more. My experience is limited as I am new to the world of Habanos, and have not experienced aged Cubans. Even with my limited experience however, I would have to question how this cigar could possibly get any better with age, as that doesn’t seem possible to me. The only critique would a chlorophyll spot on the wrapper, and that it was probably slightly under-filled, as was exhibited by wide open draw and slightly uneven burn. It did not bother me in the slightest. 9/10...because I’m a miser who doesn’t give perfect scores. 14
Bri Fi Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 Very nice review. I’m always conflicted with smoking a whole box that’s ready to go vs finding out if they can be even better later on. Those more experienced than me will say smoke away when ready and don’t wait. 1
jonnyfromiranny Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 Got some of these on the way as well. Bout on a whim. Glad I did 1
Walter19 Posted May 13, 2021 Posted May 13, 2021 Nice review! The best cigar I’ve ever smoked ROTT. Looking forward to revisiting, 1
rcarlson Posted May 13, 2021 Posted May 13, 2021 Classic Trini profile. I've had a fair number of them, mostly fresh. All of 'em were pretty damn good, though your description fits my experiences with the Fundi more than the ML. The ML has been a little more inconsistent in the flavor profile from stick to stick. I'd guess that the next one might not the bullseye like this one did. But when it comes to the recent run on all of the Trinis, you know, horseshoes and hand grenades. . . 1
BigGuns Posted May 14, 2021 Posted May 14, 2021 Thanks for the great review! Inspired me to grab my first one tonight - SOU JUL 20 - and it is phenomenal. Cheers! 2
griller Posted May 14, 2021 Posted May 14, 2021 Great review! From top to bottom, there isn't a wart in the entire Trinidad lineup. Really a consistent label by Habanos standards, too. 1
