Popular Post Glass Half Full Posted March 30, 2021 Popular Post Posted March 30, 2021 Especially in light of this past year, it strikes me that many of us have reasons to be thankful... I have never posted to FriendsofHabanos before, ...though I have surely benefitted from many of your posts. During the past year, I have a new appreciation for the relaxation and positive benefits of a wonderful cigar, which has been amplified by what I've learned here. (I went down the "rabbit hole" for the 2nd time after a family trip to Cuba.) In the past week, my 95 (soon to be 96) year-old Dad has gotten his 2nd vaccine, ...after repeated visits to hospitals over the past year. (Thank goodness, and he's working hard at having a few more years -- even started slowly peddling (not riding ) a stationary bike, which seemed like a crazy purchase for a while there.) It was a tough week for him, but he persisted, and is doing so well I was able to make the 17 hour drive home after helping him to be back with my wife. Now, as I write this, I decided to enjoy a delicious Trinidad, well aged and cared for thanks to what I've learned here. My wife and I were fortunate enough to have just gotten our own 2nd vaccine shots this evening. While we feel lucky, I can't help but feel for the so, so many who still need it. I hope that all who are able will take the opportunity to help put an end to the pandemic by taking the vaccine. I see this purely as a public health issue, as I surely hope all who read this do. I imagine that many of you also see cigars (and their accompaniments ) as an act of celebration, appreciation and gratitude. I hope that spirit translates, and results in our ability to help others (even non-CC smokers to a better place each day. Perhaps you all have other reasons to celebrate and be thankful. If you'd care to share your thoughts/experiences, I (for one) would appreciate it. I imagine someone (much smarter than me, or at least earlier), may have already started such a thread. If so, I hope the more experienced among y'all will highlight those please. With best wishes, -Glass Half Full 15

Rhinoww Posted March 31, 2021 Posted March 31, 2021 Amen brother. we are indeed fortunate. Daughter is home from college in Nashville (no power, tree on house they are renting, seemed to be a good time to come home). She got her hair cut for the first time in forever. Hairdresser lost two in her family to Covid. Unfortunately a conversation we may hear more as we (or at least I after my second shot settles in) wil be hearing. Very fortunate to have a job that I could do from home. Quite a bit to be thankful for over the last year. I have said it before and will say again, this forum has been a great respite over the last year. 2

Mickey D Posted April 1, 2021 Posted April 1, 2021 Great first post. Thanks for sharing, made my day.
joeypots Posted April 1, 2021 Posted April 1, 2021 Nice first post. I wake up and try to remember that I'm lucky to have been born in a prosperous, stable society rather than some lawless, impoverished social disaster. I'll refrain from naming countries that are failed societies but they are easy to find. This puts things in perspective for me. I'd rather be lucky than smart.
