Popular Post rcarlson Posted March 22, 2021 Popular Post Posted March 22, 2021 My final entry in the FYAR competition. Three scores on the long ash pulls from my stash this weekend. Eye-guzzling the basketball tourney provided me with plenty of time to build up my cigar ashes. In it to win it. Well-rolled and oily. Rich, complex, balanced, densely and evenly packed. First half was medium with a characteristic Upmann Graham cracker, honey, espresso, leather, toasted nuts kinda thing going on. I love it. The Mag 46s have been on a run for me since 2018. Never regret pulling one, no matter how often. Second half developed more strength with he espresso/coffee coming in a bit stronger. Cinnamon and earthiness developed as it warmed, along with a very light sweetness. I haven't found the mongrel and strength typical of the young Mag 46s. These have all been . . . well. . . kinda like SW's younger brother. I know, I know. Bullshit, right? But that's what I'm getting. I'll just have to fight you on the playground after school over it. Some dark chocolate in and out to the end. These may be my most consistent everyday smokes this year. Don't think the ash helps or detracts from the experience, other than taming my reaction to the destruction of my bracket one-by-one by the walleyes shooting from the 3 pointer zone. Time for the pitiless, time-honored refrain: there's always next year. Damn you March Madness. Brackets: F- Mag 46: Solid A - 12
Chucko8 Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 Another great review and ash mate. Thanks for sharing 1

Nice review, I'm still waiting for a 46 to be tasty for me but I've only had a couple young uns. You've motivated me to pull one out to try tonight. 1 1

Lycosa Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Nice review post. I just had my first ever Mag 46 the other day and damn, it was great! It was in my humidor for about 3.5 weeks before I smoked it. Still have another one left in my collection (bought two singles). Would be nice to have a box or two at some point. I personally won't buy any Sir Winnies anytime soon. I've given it 2 chances and both were plugged, super tight draw. Barely any smoke. The taste seemed to have potential, might've tasted great if the draw was at least decent. I know it's probably just that box/those singles but my god... They're not cheap cigars and those experiences kind of "scarred" me LOL! Not a good first impression. I don't want to have to dry box my cigars and 64%~ RH has to be low enough.
