RASS MSU 18 - quality?

For what it’s worth, I have a box of MSU RASS (May 18) and they haven’t been great by any means. I have Bolivar MSU boxes from that year which are excellent, but the RASS box has been mediocre at best.

I also have a box I purchased after hearing great things about MSU quality because a box of REG 18 RASS have been some of the worst rolled, horrible cigars I've tried to smoke.  After getting two cigars in to the MSU box, neither have been good, both have been too tight, smoked poorly, and to be honest, I'm sort of done with the brand. Maybe they'll open up and get better, but outside of trying to score a quarter box of PSP someday just to give myself the best chance possible to have a good one, I've found them to be dreadful. No fruit flavors to them at all, which had me extremely intrigued. FWIW, El Pres has been raving about 2019 RASS. If I were you, I'd save your money and purchase a young box based on his opinion. I trust it more than my own, and his sample size is waaaaaay larger.

I have MSU Feb 18 BRC that are outstanding!

I have a 50 cab of RASS REG July 19 from our host that I haven’t tried yet and will likely crack this week. I sure hope they are good. 50 would be that much more painful.
Any luck with this code anyone?

MSU has been good to me but I’ve not gotten RASS from that year.

Sounds like the consensus is that its a good code for Bolivar but perhaps not so much RASS

I have a MSU 18 box and they have been fantastic. Honestly among the best fresher RASS I’ve had, and the wrappers are phenomenal. This is one I smoked recently.

I’ve had bad luck with RASS. I bought two boxes on a whim and only made it mostly through one so far. MEL FEB 17. It’s been below average at best flavor wise but construction has been good. I had one a few days ago and it was really good. Hope Yours turn around for you. Everything else MSU For me has been out of this world.

I have RAS boxes from MSU JUL 17 and ABR 18, 17 is the worst wrapper I’ve seen, smoked one from the box last week and it fell apart half way, pale, sandpaper wrapper with veins and green dots. Not cool Ramon!

I just called a cab of MSU May 18 up from my locker, so I'll let you know in September. They certainly look good with darker wrappers.
