Popular Post D-Mind Posted March 24, 2020 Popular Post Posted March 24, 2020 Trinidad Esmeralda Factory Name: Dinoras Ring Gauge: 54 Length: 145 mm / 5.7 inches Diameter: 21.43 mm Strength: Medium Profile: dried fruits, cream, mint Smooth and silky colorado wrapper leaf with a noticeable sheen over the entire surface. Cold aroma of vitola body: flowery honey, caramel, light notes of vanilla. Aroma of the foot: dried fruits, white pepper, sweet grass. Cold draw: baked milk, spicy dried fruits, pistachio ice cream. The beginning of the cigar: spicy dried apples and light notes of nutmeg and leather. The strength is below medium. The draw is open. The construction is perfect. Gradually vitola adds sweetness, the smoke becomes more creamy, spicy notes appear. Flat column of white ash, which confidently rests on a foot. The beginning of the second third of vitola instantly gives a minty taste with light metallic notes, which is quickly replaced by a creamy chocolate palette. The strength is medium. The smoke is juicy, moderately sweet. The palette of tastes is complex and constantly evolving. Literally every puff gives new shades. A slight saltiness is felt on the lips, and a fruity accent appears in the overall composition which reminiscent of dried mango or pear. I try to smoke the cigar with small puffs, thanks to the ideal draw (I've noticed a long time ago that taste much brighter and more distinct when you smoke slow). In the middle of the second third, somewhere in the background, a floral motif flickers, turning first into green tea, and then into notes of fruit lollipops. The last third of the cigar continues the fruity motif, adding mint notes. By the middle of the last third, the palette acquires shades of coffee with cream, creating a very unusual combination of tastes in the mouth (praise the ligador for such creativity). The strength is still medium, but the smoke is saturated, rounded, creamy. At the very end, the cigar gives notes of orange zest and fried pecans, leaving a long nutty finish in the mouth. My score is 93. Very creative palette. 23 2
david9985 Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Great review and beautiful photographs. It looks like you really enjoyed yourself! You managed to pick out a lot of flavours too: I will look out for some of them next time I have a Trini. Thanks. 1

Kayslay Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 @D-Mind Which of the new vitolas ranks highest in your opinion? I've only had the Topes.

I didn't smoke Topes yet. In my opinion both Media Luna and Esmeralda are awesome cigars. For me it's 93-94 score smoke. And they are different in terms of taste. Now i wish to had a box of Topes for full trio. ))
Kayslay Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Gotcha. Topes is the only one I've tried. RG is a little big for my liking.
RDB Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Another nice review, thank you. I guess I will pick up a box of these at some point, even though the vitola is not my favourite... 1
Bmbroads Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 If you can get a hand on the fundy it’s the best
The Squiggler Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 *Dinoras // Robusto (CCW). I could be mistaken, but this appears to be the only cigar of this size/shape in the catalogue, current or otherwise. Fun fact: the Hebrew meaning of 'Dinora' is "Avenged; Judged and vindicated". Not sure if there is any connection here, but that would be cool... a tough name for a tough looking cigar ? 1 1

Deeg Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 That’s one of the loveliest wrappers I’ve seen on any cigar for a long time. 1
D-Mind Posted March 25, 2020 Author Posted March 25, 2020 Thanks for your comments guys Soon i will make some new reviews. Punch La Isla may be next. )
SigmundChurchill Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 Nice review. This has become my new favorite cigar, rivaled only by the Siglo VI. Completely different flavor profiles, but equally pleasing to my palate. The Esmiraldas smoke better young than Siglo VI. I wont touch a Siglo VI until a year at the very minimum, and more often, at least 2 years. And with Siglo VIs being priced the way they are these days, the Esmeraldas seem like a bargain. 4
inter4alia Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 Great review and photos. Thanks for the post! 1
bdw1984 Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 Nice review. Like a photo shoot and romance novel all wrapped into one. 1
