Popular Post El Presidente Posted March 8, 2020 Popular Post Posted March 8, 2020 It is always fun and educational working and spending time with Hamlet The reason I am here is to work with the final blends for the N Series Nudie cigars 2020 edicion. We have tweaked the blends and introduced a new wrapper for the N1 (Lancero) and N3 (carlota) The result has been transformation of both cigars into cocoa bombs. Hamlet is old school and doesn't believe in the application of food characters to cigars. He would call it "sweet and smooth". I think it works brilliantly with the carlota. I enjoyed another over lunch this afternoon and it is pretty close to the ultimate cigar for me with a double espresso. We are tweaking the N1 again this week. Almost there. The N2 is a Bala figurado at roughly 6.5 inches and tapering from 58 at the foot to 50 at the cap. That allows for a comfortable mouth fit while allowing plenty of room to play with blend. Hamlet worked a little magic here. No ligero is used and the profile is cream and marshmallow. There is a lot of the old style fonseca character here. The boys looked to be enjoying it immensely at last nights tasting. I always wondered why many Nicaraguan cigars tasted so strong. I wasn't aware that Volado is not used in Nicaraguan cigars (Seco taking its place) and that Nicaraguan Ligero blows Cuban ligero away in terms of strength. No Ligero is used in the N series. Successful week and we will shoot out some samples in the months ahead. 13 1

JohnS Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 Of course dear friend. I will remind Fuzz and the team at FoH! ?
hodgegoblin Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 Sounds delightful!! Looking forward to paring some marshmallow, cocoa and Graham cracker sticks. ? Also, very interesting about the Volado. Do they just not add enough pepper and strength for the NC fans?
Habana Mike Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 Volado is light on flavor and strength. It's a filler to support combustion. 1
Astar20 Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 Is that the only size offered in the 2020 Nudies? Or will there be another size @El Presidente

But, I would be interested to learn what was wrong (in your opinion) in the first trial samples you had of the N1?, they seemed pretty perfect to me.
CaptainQuintero Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 Sounds brill! Would be a cool idea (imo) if this release had a little 'card from Ken' insert that suggested general drinks pairings. Although this might just be me having a sordid desire to have Ken's signature...
