Buck14 Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 Billy Bishop Downtown Toronto Airport Cuban Cigars just left out on the shelf next to the vodka, cigs and vape products. I was here about 6 weeks ago and looks like the same boxes. When you figure in just about the worst prices on the planet (maybe on par with Oz) and the prolonged dry boxing, these might be the worst Cuban cigars deals in the world. As a cherry on the top, I was served the absolute tasteless double espresso I’ve ever had at the bar in the gate area...a slight hint of cardboard lingers on the palate after completely nothing on the nose or initial taste. Great airport but don’t buy the coffee or Cigars. 2
Puros Y Vino Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 Ah. "Ballsacks" coffee. The explains it. Those cigars are probably crap by now. 2
benfica_77 Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 Ugh those poor Siglo VI's ....turds now...need to be repackaged as "anejados" 1
Mikeltee Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 The only place to get a proper espresso in north america is my man cave. You are welcome anytime. I roast my own. 1
egon Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 If you ask the staff, there is a humidor in the back room where they will get you a fresh box. I bought a 3 pack of RyJ tubos no1 for $56 en route to NY, which for Canadian standards is not so bad! And the cigars were good. if I remember correctly, a box of Cohiba Siglo iv was priced at $500.
Hammer Smokin' Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 that sounds cheap...unless you are talking a 10 count box.

Hammer Smokin' Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 yep. sure does. missed that....and makes the price make more sense.
Buck14 Posted October 31, 2019 Author Posted October 31, 2019 Those were Siglo VI I believe with a 560 CAD price tag (10 count)
Wookie Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 Do Canadians actually pay those prices regularly for CCs?
LLC Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 Do Canadians actually pay those prices regularly for CCs?Not most Canadians, there are lots of better ways to get Cuban cigars I’ll buy a single in a store if they have a lounge or there is something I want to try but wouldn’t buy a box at those prices. But even orders via Internet get nailed by the border. Generally you can expect a 100% increase in purchase cost in taxes. and they base that on the actual cost, not the cost shown on the package. it is crazy...and frustrating seeing everyone getting boxes via the 'net without taxes applied. but such is life. 1
havanaclub Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 Do Canadians actually pay those prices regularly for CCs?Nope. It’s ridiculous! The odd single and maybe 3 pack over the border at duty free. That’s about it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
