Trinidad Robusto Extra Unknown Code SSTRW

This was gifted to me by a friend in Havana last November and has been sitting in my Humidor since. It came from a cardboard 3 pack and I don't know the date/code. These were discontinued in 2012 though, so its at least 7 years old. I removed the cigar from the box about 24 hours ago, but the nose and cold draw were still a little papery. I cut it with an 11mm punch and the draw was a bit open (wind tunnel to most) but after warming up it settled in nicely.

1st third - Heaven. Smooth, creamy, doughy, sweet. The cigar generates a tremendous amount of thick, flavorful smoke. Impeccable construction, the ash lasts through the first third. The retrohale is smooth as silk, sweet and with light hints of pepper when I start drawing too fast. 

2nd third - The ash finally drops at almost 2". The cigar went out while I waited for he stewards at Churchill Downs to steal several hundred dollars from me. Idiots. The relight didn't do the cigar any harm, but my psyche is in a totally different place. Some cinnamon starts to show, clear as day. The cream starts to turn into more of a salted butter. I have to force myself to slow down and I pour myself a stiff Gin and Tonic in the hope it helps me avoid punching something. 

Final Third - More of the same. No rough edges, no bitterness. Near perfect until I put it down. A near perfect cigar, marred by one of the worst decisions in recent memory. Don't Bet The Ponies!!! 97/100

Thanks and Yes! Very similar in size RE = 50x155 and the La Trova = 52x166

I prefer the size and flavor/body of the Robusto Extra, but only slightly. 50 or 52 ring is the very top end of comfortable for me, but both of these cigars are so good that it doesn't bother me.
