Yes, from 52 ring gauge x 156 mm (or 6.15 inches - the standard size for a piramides) to 54 ring gauge x 160 mm (or 6.3 inches)

H. Upmann Magnum 50 and Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure Especial were both ELs and then became regular production cigars.

The Cohiba Piramides Extra, to my knowledge, has nothing to do with the Cohiba Piramides EL.

Judging from The few pics released The wrappers do NOT at all look The same

So those cigars are not interesting/good anymore because of beeing regular production.

They will have to stand on their own merit - if past releases are any indication and if they aren’t lying when they say that LE tobacco is aged minimum of two years, they will be very different from the LE - for better or worse.

Agreed - I think it'll be a different blend and the only thing consistent about this will be the size. I like Trinidad in general so still looking forward to tasting this release as well as the others coming out in this line.

I wish the La Trova became a regular production. With all the new Trinidads coming out, I feel like I will blindly buy anything that starts with Trinidad on 24:24 from now on.

To quote directly from Cuban Cigar Website, "Initially the releases were standard productions cigars produced in unlimited numbers. Since 2011 a new policy of releasing special La Casa Del Habano Exclusives ( La Casa Del Habano Exclusivo ) in limited numbers was established."

So what does that mean? Prior to 2011 these LCDH releases were available for around 5 years, now they get produced annually but in controlled production. Hence why one won't see continual listings of LCDH cigars on 24:24 sales, for example, but you may see them periodically for a month or two and then will come a hiatus.

When the Trinidad La Trova LCDH came out in November 2017 it was very popular (as it still is). It was snapped up by enthusiasts within a few months and then it was unavailable until the 2018 run was produced.

Thanks for the great info. 

I never sensed any scarcity during that 17-18 run, as I saw quite a few boxes in the US secondary market. That's not to say they weren't scarce, it just didn't seem so. But fully understood about the LCDH being a year to year thing w/ no certainty.
