I think the days of a Head coach are over.  It's the era of the Team Manager.   Hanson, Gatland, are brilliant at this (Gatland to a lesser degree). Almost creating a grey dispassionate veil over the whole squad and coaching staff. It helps them control the narrative.  Eddie Jones, likes the sound of his own voice too much, to have the discipline to do this. 

Maybe Schmit would be a more creative tactical choice

I loved Big Vern and his taciturn delivery. We’re starting to see the fruits of his labours now.

Yep, thats what I saw.  Also seems like someone who really plugs into the experience.  Quite touching to see Stern Vern welling up at his last match interview.

I think Schmit (post RWC) is more likely through, for Aussies play based running game. Still leaves the question, of what happens meantime.

yes, but long gone and very minor in any event.

currently travelling with a pommy mate - and others - went to the world cup final in 03 with him or close, anyway, and played cricket with him in england. at the moment, both of us have deliberately avoided any mention of either sport.
