For me some cigars are relegated to once a year or so. Like RASS and Bolivar PCs. Usually the one I smoke every year or so is great. Have had boxes of each, but never found them worth restocking. One every now and then scratches the itch nicely.

I find Cohibas bland and boring and I get hay and honey and other tastes from them. Hay and honey... are kind of bland and boring!  :D

Would agree, except I LOVE honey in a cigar, as well as that unique grassy flavor I can only seem to reliably find in Cohiba.

So far in my CC journey I have smoked exactly 1 RASS and got harsh/bitter spice and pepper. It was not pleasing to me at all and I got none of the fruit that so many reviews talk about. It was perfectly constructed though - so it’s got that going for it, which is nice haha. I have a few more that just hit the 90 day mark, think I’ll take another on for a spin and see what we have.

I know some people love young RASS, but I find them a hot mess until they're about 3 years old.

I struggle to enjoy beer. I really do. I wish I could. I can enjoy a stout but really anything else is simply a trial (malt, blonde, lager etal).  I can't tell you the number of times I felt like the only  kid not invited to his classmates 8th birthday party :D

I am like that with scotch.  I feel like, whatever, at least I don't need to spend money on THAT.

You're not alone. I find Cohiba's bland and boring yet others get hay and honey and other tastes.

Also I've smoked a bunch of JL no 2 and I get only a floral taste that overpowers everything else so I don't buy them anymore. I'd much rather smoke a SLR Regios.

Brave of you to say this about Cohibas.  I concur.  For the life of me I have often wondered if people talking so highly about them is just a symptom of having paid so much for a cigar that you feel compelled to enjoy it.  To me, the emperor Cohiba, has no clothes, and I for one am tired of denying it.  If they were so unique and special, I would venture a guess that people would always guess correctly whenever they come up on the blind tasting.  Last year, I completely whiffed on the Cohiba Siglo IV.  This year, it seems there were many missed guesses on the CORO.

That is a very interesting way of looking at it--through the missed blind tasting guesses. Whenever Cohiba's are described they are almost always described the same way, except for obviously the Talisman, Maduros, etc. I have smoked most of the Cohiba line except maduros, but not boxes, just singles. I was never really blown away. Siglo VI I remember being nice, but not for the price. I wasn't blown away, far from it. Maybe I haven't smoked enough Cohiba to give them a chance.

I guess because of the mystique behind the name and the premium on the price people think they are superior. Not sure why, maybe it just suits their palate but I would guess there are some that smoke them just because it says Cohiba on the band.

I'm just glad I don't like them. Even if I loved them I wouldn't want to throw my money away. Why would I buy for example a $300 box of Siglo II when I can buy a cabinet of PLPC for less or heck 3 boxes of RyJ Mille Fleurs.

I've smoked 6 or 7 different Cohiba sizes and haven't liked one of them and that includes my wrong guess on the CORO.

I never saw they great allure of it, myself, now if it's a really HOT day on the sand then yes an ice cold beer is good, I also turn heads by pouring it over ice, I like it that way leave me alone.

The RASS so far not a big to do for me. I guess that's why they make chocolate and vanilla ice cream

The RASS is an interesting example because the first few singles that I smoked didn't impress me at all. I thought they were bland, and based on what RASS fans describe, that shouldn't be the case. I did get one recently in a trade with someone here and it blew me away with its stewed fruit flavors. So I wonder too if there is just a great variation with that cigar.

In terms of drinks: Scotch. Never cared for it. Too bracing and dry for me.
