Hey all,

Whats the deal with these?  Can’t find them anywhere. Not a lot of reviews, but handful I’ve read sound like they are very good.

I like them a lot (I’m a fan of almost the whole “Le Hoyo Du” series. Discontinued and surprisingly hard to find now.

Lotusguy  The CCW has them as current production. Is this not up to date?

Bit of data:  If Google is correct, this is the first FOH thread which even mentions the HDM du Gourmet in over 2 years.

It's in the food section of the forum.

A fantastic cigar and the quintessential long and skinny for me - once aged, became one of the most complex, yet balanced, cigars I've ever had. Sorely missed.

I hope the big RG thing is a fad.

This one and Le Hoyo du Dauphin have always been hard to find. I remember that in Paris, in the early 2000's, several tobacconists decided to stop selling them due to construction issues. They were probably the best of the series – when they were available, and when they were smokable…

That’s a shame. Love the size on these.

The last box I was able to get my hands on was May 13. I like these quite a bit too, they are/were a classy cigar. The least "woody" of the Le Hoyo line, to my palate.

unfortunately, like all good cigars, they have been discontinued due to low global sales volume by HSA.

These were gems, once you have got some years on them.

I've had the option quite a few times for box buys on Du Gourmet, yet sadly they've always been bashed to bits, by those people you see in walk in humidors forcing cigar bundles back into cabs. a bit like seeing someone push a Christmas tree into a chipper.

I feel so sorry for merchants where they have to run the fine line between not letting potential clients handle cigars, and still letting them see the quality etc.

I hate putting people out, i.e. opening up numerous boxes until the 'purple patch' is found, but I've learned most merchants have lost £1000s with heavy handed people beasting cigars, and basically now comply and let them do all the heavy lifting (as it were).
