FDA Going after cigar industry...

Another gift left from the Obama Era. FDA to regulate cigar giveaways, production of new cigars, and who knows what else. Tucker Carlson chats above with Rocky Patel about it, from his show last night. 

Funny comment on the video... Someone asks, do you think Cuba whispered in Obama's ear before he left office? Who knows. But if they go after some cigars... Where will the stop? Time to beat the drum and contact your representatives on this.

I got an email from a cigar advocacy group on this segment yesterday.  I normally watch Tucker, but made sure I would not miss last night.  I have a hunch our current administration may take some steps to remedy what the previous one did.  Sounds like low lying fruit and an easy win for the administration.

I’m guessing that this was a smart move on the part of CRA to get this issue in front of our President. Word has it that he watches a lot of cable news and makes policy decisions based on what he sees and hears.

It certainly hit all of Trump’s hot buttons....over regulation, policy was put in place by Obama administration, it’s killing jobs, hurting small family businesses, hurting the economy of Central America (potentially sending displaced workers north) etc. The only downside was that they introduced Rocky as “an immigrant”. Not a bad thing in my book but a potential negative for the Pres.

Hopefully the message will get through and this draconian policy of FDA regulations will get reversed.

Rocky came to the USA LEGALLY and employs thousands of employees. Why would our President take issue with that?

I'd be more worried about the current administration putting a clamp on smoking in any form as a higher priority than saving a long time American-centric industry like cigars...

The anti-smoking lobbies are more powerful than the cigar lobbies.

Yeah let's not pretend like this is a partisan issue. There are plenty of Republicans that have voted in measures against cigars and the industry, and there are plenty of Democrats who have championed for the cigar industry.

Don’t get me wrong Prez, I’m not lodging a complaint - I was just stating the obvious. It’s a politically charged issue, no doubt. And one that has been in the wheelhouse of 2 vastly different ideological factions for some time now.

I wasn't pointing at you mate but some Nancy Drew actually lodged a complaint apparently because feelings have been hurt. 

It never ceases to amaze me that people who I assume wear big boy pants most of the time get their knickers in a knot over things like this.

Apologies for repeating the opening line from the video basically. 

My intention wasn't to ruffle feathers. We all own our politics. I'll keep mine to myself. I'll share my cigars and my passion for them with you all any day.
