In Canada, we are having a postal strike at the moment. I was wondering if anyone here knew by what method cigars are shipped to Canada. Is it through USPS to Canada Post? Or is it through FedEx or some other comparable courier? Thank you in advance!

Make sure the RH in the box (and the room it is in) is lower than that of your humidor! Especially if it has been raining for a few days. People sometimes forget or don't realise their home could have

Read the FOH rules. Shipping is not discussed under any circumstance. There is no benefit in giving agencies a heads up.

Nudies/MOFOH is shipped from Miami. PM me if you need any detail.

I am not seeing the 24:24 displayed in the watering hole forum? I went back 4 pages?

Where is the list for cigars? I don't seem them.

Do you mean the FoH Store? Or perhaps the daily 24:24 thread? In regard to the store, that changed when distribution was rationed from mid-2022 after Habanos S.A. changed their business model. In regard to the daily 24:24 thread, it runs from Tuesday to Friday each week (Brisbane, Australia time).

Also I have been told that China now own and controls all Cuban cigars.

Habanos S.A has retained a 50% share in their Habanos cigar business. There are numerous references on our forum over the years that highlights the control of supply that Cuba has over their unique product. The suggestion that China completely owns and controls the supply and distribution of Habanos cigars is unequivocally false.

So being a newbie and trying to soak all this great information, I get that there is a post of availability and then if wanting to order you send an email. My question is where is the 24:24 link to see what is available that day?

The 24:24 thread is pinned every Tuesday to Friday (Brisbane morning time) in the Cigar Discussion "Waterhole" sub-forum here.

I have seen the acronym "CAB" used. I didn't see it listed in abbreviation lists. I think it may be associated with box size? Is it a particular number?

Newb to CC so was wondering, now that I have tried some CC like the Siglo 1, Monte 5 and a couple other small 40 ish ring gauge cigars. Why have they started making larger rg and how do they compare to their smaller rg of the same marca?

My condolences on smoking a Siglo I.  😂 Move up the ladder....2's 3's etc. Those are much better.

In general terms, Habanos S.A. started making larger ring gauge cigars at the start of the 2000s because of demand related to the trend of larger ring gauge cigars in New World cigars during the 90s. "Purists"...you know, the strict Habanos enthusiasts that prefer smaller ring-gauged cigars had to adapt to the ever-increasing deletion of Coronas, Lonsdales and Churchills during the 2000s.

Smaller ring gauge cigars tend to have more strength and are 'sharper' on the palate than other vitolas within the same brand.

I, in fact, have very recently received some Siglo 3 that are currently resting. What might I expect in regards to being better than the Siglo 1?

The Siglo III is way above a I. To me, the Siglo l was an afterthought, or what's left on the floor from rolling a Siglo lll. Try it. You'll see.

Thanks, I’ve got Siglo 3 tubos from 2019 resting now. I will give one a try in a couple weeks.

I am just starting to get into cigars. I’m pretty much exclusively enjoying light/medium Cubans. I love the honey/vanilla/caramel tasting cigars. That being said, what are some of your favorite lesser expensive boxes to throw in the humidor?

I'm getting a little bit more involved in the cigar hobby and I'm needing to expand my current storage situation. I've got a pretty nice small acrylic humidor I keep in my home office, but usually what I've done at my local shop is buy a cigar, and if I like it, buy another stick and put it in the humidor. There are a few that I like enough that I'd consider ordering a box of them. If I do so, what seems to be the best way to keep them? Remove them from the box and store them in a humidor, store the cigar, box and all, inside the humidor, or something else?

I can suggest the Rafael Gonzalez Petit Corona (or) Perlas, H. Upmann Half Corona, Bolivar Petit Coronas.  They are smaller cigars but are very consistent.

Depending on how serious and how many boxes, how long you'd like to age, I would offer a couple solutions:

- Cheap/Easy: EZY tote - Target sells the Ezy Storage 52.8qt for like $15 - Throw in some of the larger 62% Boveda's and you're set. I'm currently using this to keep my boxes in until my huge electric humidor arrives.

- Expensive/Huge: Raching, Yohtron, Afidano - These are the top-tier solutions that control temperature and humidity, provide circulating airflow and can even sport ammonia removal. If you're wanting to age for years and years, want plenty of storage and temperatures are also a concern, you'll eventually end up here.

People swear by tupperware, and I use them too but find it harder to organize and find the stick you're looking for, plus only huge containers like the EZYs are big enough to hold multiple boxes. There is nothing wrong with keeping your cigars in tupperware for years on end. You can use any food-safe container that has a tight seal, bovedas are great, throw a govee in there for monitoring temps/rH and you're fine.

Would you recommend storing different cigars in different tupperware containers if I go that route, or does it even matter? Just thinking, I've got a box of Romeo y Julieta Cedros, some Montecristo No. 5s and some BHK 52s on the way.

Doesn't matter too much. Keep them in their boxes or add some cedar to the tupperware in form of trays or dividers, it'll be fine.
