It is awesome. And if you are there on the right day you can meet FOH guys there who are wonderful. Like our friend Claus. The cigars the have are lovely NC's should you smoke all your BYO's. We shared ours and that is what happened. But what is really great is the choice of bourbons, which is as special to me. Nice place to smoke, went with my West Coast Posse pal Fidel ex JRBB ex Herfers Paradise. 1
Naug Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 While I may be living in Taichung (where we have many places to smoke) my home is Portland OR. When smoking in bars was banned in 2009 part of the legislation allowed for existing Cigar Bars to remain open. One is at El Gaucho a top end steakhouse, great place for steaks but the cigar lounge is usually packed and is too small. The other that I know of is part of a motel, the lounge is The Mark, much bigger and other than at game time not to full. Both are withing a couple of miles of my US home. The cigar lounges in Taichung are much nicer, some are connected to 4 star hotels and have LCDH shops, at these you must purchase at least one overpriced cigar to smoke. I'm going to one at the Hotel Lin tomorrow with a mate who is a consultant for the hotel. Not sure on their policies. The others are cigar shops slash lounges and few are just cigar friendly bars.
Duxnutz Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 Here in Hawaii the local lounge in Honolulu ranks pretty low on the scale of lounges found in other states. Still it’s nice to chill with high speed wifi, cable and some leather recliners. Don’t need much more than that. 2
CigarAsh Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 I have a fantastic place a few minutes from my house, Outlaw Cigar (http://www.outlawcigar.com/). Owner took over an old restaurant, gutted the place, and built a great facility. One of biggest humidors I've ever been in. But the best is the smoking lounges. About 5000 square feet spread through the building. Multiple big screen TVs, with lots of leather club chairs so it's a must for good sporting events. It strictly a bring your own food/booze place because of local laws, so everyone brings in lunch/dinner/libations. Even has a bar between the two main smoking lounges to do your setups. They don't really care if you bring in your own smokes, but I'm a firm believer in supporting my local B&M, so I always make sure to buy something while there. Owner is also a big supporter of US military overseas, and sponsors events to send caseloads of cigars to the troops. These events are a site to behold, hundreds of people, free food and drink - and all for good causes. Lots of entertaining photos on the website. I've also met up with a few FOH members there over the years when they've come through Kansas City. 2

I usually smoke in the car (my Mobile Smoking Lounge) or at home, but usually go to Ambassador or occasionally go to Fox's in Old Town Scottsdale. In fact I'll probably end up there this evening to wrap up office work before heading North... Nice! I live here in Phoenix too, but I’ve never been to Fox’s in Old Town. I typically go to Magnum’s as they have a nice selection of drinks and a decent walk in humidor for NC selections. They’re ok with you bringing your own smokes, but they do charge a $5 fee to bring your own and they’re fine with bringing in CCs. Great friendly staff and nice atmosphere to relax for a few hours. 1
Stump89 Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 I live in a little more rural area in PA, and there are 0 lounges in my town. Luckily there are a few that are close enough to make an afternoon drive. There are a couple in Gettysburg which is 30 mins away, and I'm about an hour away from the Cigars International store which is the biggest cigar shop I've ever seen and has a huge lounge. 1
Popular Post Toast & Taste Posted February 7, 2018 Popular Post Posted February 7, 2018 My barn is my local Habanos lounge. Satellite radio. Fine Scotch. My 4 dogs. Sometimes I sit in my tractor and burn one. Friends visit frequently. Life is good; even when it's not Big Al 6

Last time I went to Magnums they asked me to leave for walking in with a lit stick. Said I had to buy a new one there or get out. Asked if I could buy one and finish what I'd started. Nope. Turned on my heel and never went back. That was three years ago. Fox's is worth the visit. I buy singles there, but am told they don't mind my smoking my own (usually carry in a 5size Xikar with CCs) There's a nice new one in DC ranche called Cedar room. Rather small, but nice. Torch cigar bar in desert ridge is nice as well. But nothing compares to home. I sit at the kitchen bar and pretend I'm in the Old West. I tell my wife "Bourbon. Leave the bottle" and toss two bits onto the counter and she just laughs. And then says "git it yerself". 2 1
ElJavi76 Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 Currently at Jamie's Restaurant and Cigar bar in Clifton NJ. Plenty of booze to choose from. Crazy list of bourbons. My last visit her was years ago with a friend but I might drop by more frequently. BYO and no cutting fee. I read reviews saying the fare is great. I've never eaten dinner here, save some wings during my last visit. Jamie's https://yelp.to/qTKq/lYkug9TXlK My go to spot in NYC is called The Carnegie Club. Plush leather seats, library setting, great selection of booze and wine, and the servers are pretty cute. They have a 10 dollar cutting fee but it's worth it. Saturday nights is Sinatra tribute night. Live jazz band. Just wow. They charge more for the show but again, very worth it. http://www.hospitalityholdings.com/#/establishments/the_carnegie_club And my garage most of the summer. No cutting fee. You're all invited. Cheers, El Javi 2

Great times at that place. 2

We even went to Carnegie Deli first when it was there. But then later went to Macanudos, but find this bar too pricey for what you must do, buy Macanudo product. Too bad, the lounge is so nice. When in NYC with my daughter, stopped in at Davidoff and just had a Zino D smoke with locals and she went back to our hotel. Then went down the street and found the Chopard watch I post in the “watches” thread a few over. CB 1

I personally go to grand Havana room (member here since 2014). It is amazing, I store some of my cigars there and there restaurant has top notch steaks and the lobster risotto is to die for. Here is a link to see what the main room and bar area looks like https://www.cigars-connect.com/new-york-the-grand-havana-room-an-exceptional-setting-for-cigar-lovers/ I had an opportunity to visit the Grand Havana Room a few years ago and it was an awesome experience. Is Melvin still the manager? 1

anacostiakat Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 In the District there are several. Drapers has two locations and then there is Shelly's Backroom.

Wolfpack Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 Had my 50th birthday party at this one in Miami.http://miami.primecigar.comPlace is great. Because of local laws, they do not cook food, only cigars and alcohol, but we catered - and had a great time with about 100 friends. Usually sent from sunny South Florida using Tapatalk.

I remember when it opened (with a private member only smoking area - not unlike Dieble's Plaza) and is over due for a remodel/renovation.

Is he moving it or just expanding further along the strip mall there? I've only been up to the north a couple times for events. South store is less than a mile from my house so it's too convenient to do anything else.
Jimbo Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 I have been told he is moving it (top secret - all they'll say within a 3 mile radius of current site). Word is Parkville Commons is the eventual destination - larger w/out door space. Aperantly, all other (local) municipalities are not/have not been welcoming. It's a little further away, but he needs to do something.
Jimbo Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 Have you ever been to Cigar & Tabac (like 103rd st?)

Not a very inviting lounge with just the couch and a few chairs. If 5 people are smoking it get's awful in there. Nice folks, just not a very good setup for a lounge. <y purchases of NCs has gone way down and is usually just so I don't feel guilty sitting in the Outlaw with a cuban!
Jimbo Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 Cigar & Tabc is about on par with the current state of the North store.
