I love the different aromas you get when opening up a box of Habanos. Who doesn’t, right? Part of the ritual and experience I guess. And I love experiencing how a new addition mixes and mingles with the smells already in a humidor.

But my most aromatic box by itself isn’t even a close race. LGC MDO 4!! Easy. It’s not a top favorite smoke of mine, but the aroma coming off those sticks is amazing. Distant second would have to be my Siglo I’s. Maybe the small rg and confined box space has something to do with it.

What’s yours? (And no flavored sticks...obviously)

Cheers!

I confess, I’m a box whiffer as well. I’m certain my morning routine of sticking my nose in a few random boxes to start my day will draw the ire of the purists. My regular interference with the aging process is downright uncouth. Utterly hopeless, that’s me :P

Now that I’ve gotten that off my chest, my favorite object of aroma-therapy is my PSP box of Quai d’Orsay Coronas. I’ve only had a single stick from the young box so far, and it was more mongrel than memorable. But the box aroma is absolutely intoxicating.

My box of espy’s is a close second.

Glad to hear I'm not alone. :yes:  I do this all the time,  and I rationalize that a little fresh air in the Coolidor helps things rather than hurts.

I fell in love with some Mag 46s that I have. They have this intoxicating raisin-esque aroma.

Winnie’s and Bushidos are my most aromatic boxes. They both smell sort of just different than everything else. The ARG code 2014 Winnie’s I have smell just great. It’s funny if I want a little pick me up I’ll go to them and take a sniff. Makes me happy again. Strange things in the realm of smells.

Not strange at all. Coffee brewing, bacon frying, cookies baking, fireplace burning...all evoke pleasant emotions. For me anyway!

2003 SLB of Siglo VI --- the aroma is intoxicating! It continues to get better as the years go on!

Absolutely.  Agreed.  Was making a general comment on how smells can evoke emotions in different ways

The wettest box.

Sadly, I agree with this. Some of my most aromatic boxes upon arrival are not nearly as pungent now after acclimatization to my 62%/62 storage conditions.  :coverears:

I have a box of Partagas that have such a strong smell it almost feels artificial. Like a PSD4 on steroids.

I just bought a partial box of cohiba siglo 3 from -08 that had the most intoxicating smell. It was really unbelievable, especially since it’s almost 10 years old.
The only other time I can remember was when I bought some Cohiba PE tubos from -13 earlier this year. As son as I opened the tube it let out such a strong smell it was literally all over the room, it was almost a stench. Maybe it’s my imagination but I found some scratches where the tube closes (see pic) and I think the tube was so tightly sealed no aroma whatsoever could escape until I actually opened it. Although, when I opened it now it wasn’t as strong as it was 6 months ago. 01745edaf1df40b090602f1306661685.jpg

Tubos are an enigma to me. My experience has always been so inconsistent I question my ability to store them correctly. Lol
