How much do you focus your cigar collecting?  I've got about 2,500 sticks on hand (including LT aging stuff) spread over about 12 marcas and 14 vitolas.  I seem to think just about any good looking stick is a good idea to get a box of. :P   There are cigars I love, that I may not smoke twice in a month simply because there's too many others to try.    How focused is your collection? :cigar:

Broad among Regular releases, mostly smaller vitolae.

small handful of higher end and older sticks.

Some are more special occasion sticks than others, nothing is off the list for destruction.

I am finding I am really a partagas/ Monte fan.  Never tried a Hoyo yet.  Waiting for my palate to change a little to enjoy Cohiba.  But to be honest they really don't excite me much yet.  I have 1 box if corona especial I have tried 2 of them.  I was not super impressed.  Now Monte on the other hand I can't get enough.  I mean maybe a aged CoRo might change that or a seriously aged stick.

I like variety and I like to try everything at least once - including LE and RE. Consequently, my collection is extremely wide but not very deep - I usually don't have more than 50 sticks of any vitola with just a few exceptions like HDM DD and RA 898 (the RE release - I wish it was the original release).

I have about 2000 sticks. About 30 NCs, the rest are CCs in 3 humidors and a wineador. 12 marcas and about 45 vitolas. Including aging stock, LEs and my smoking stock.

I have about 250 sticks. I don't smoke that often but I like to make sure that I have good quality so when i do have time for one, I'm giving myself the best shot at an enjoyable experience.

I currently have the remainder of 12 full box purchases of different marcas. I'm still in the process of figuring out exactly what I like and I'm constantly trying new cigars. I'll buy full boxes based of previous experience or if they look good and might be something I believe that I will enjoy. The vast majority of my stock are PCs or coronas. Rubustos are the runner up.

The rest of my stash are from trades/box passes of singles that I believe I would enjoy. This is really my "smoking" stock as I can sample new cigars and see if I want to buy a box or not.

Not included in that list is my catch all box of NCs that I have acquired from local B&M or gifts. I probably have about 15 NCs of all different shapes and sizes.

I have the majority of the most popular marcas covered. I've never had a RyJ that has been worthy of buying a box of. I'm still looking for that cigar. Getting a nice RyJ and some replacement Lusis are at the top of my list right now.

TL;DR I go an inch deep and a mile wide.

Mine is a fairly small collection at about 500 sticks, but fairly broad at 13 marcas (and counting). Variety is the spice of life.

It’s come a long way since smoking my first CC a little more than a year ago, and starting out with 5 sticks in amongst my 500 NC’s. Still trying to smoke through about 300 NC’s left, which are mainly my weekday smokes. And slowly growing my CC stock, which I smoke mainly on the weekends. The only one I’ve gone a bit deep with is CoRo. Working through one box, with 2 others marinating.

I have about 250-275 boxes on hand and I think i only have duplicates of a few. Punch punch 50 cabs, Epi 2 5 cabs and 25 cabs and some recently d/c'd vitolas. Pretty large spread across many marcas.

So in other words, you’ve got at least one of everything B)

It's sort of focused as I have my favorites that covers a number of different marcas and vitolas, but I'm always grabbing a box that I haven't tried before.  I really liked the HDM Du Prince and had just started smoking them and then about 9 months later they were discontinued.  The PL Picadores were new a couple of years ago and are now part of my regular rotation.  I have smoked Trinidad Reyes for years and finally grabbed a box of the Colonials which are great. So my list of favorites continues to grow as do the number of boxes in my collection.

Bart, I'm guessing your midget is about six feet tall.  Good to see you post again.  Haven't seen you around in a while.

Mine, about 1800 sticks, 22 marca's, vitola's...I don't know, but most everything 50 rg and below are covered.

To answer the question not concentrated at all. Right now it's a bit out of control. Like a big giant out of control vine growing everywhere. In fact my project for this weekend will
be to trim the hedge so to speak.

I opened a box of (what I thought were) Dip2s last night and lo and behold there were about 10 beautiful Upmann 2s on the top row. I'm not even sure when those got there....but I think maybe that Upmann 2 box has some custom rolls in it now...maybe...

Well, I have one of a lot of things....  But there are duplicates.  4 du Prince.  6 RACA.  6 royal robusto.  3 monte dantes. 3 punch 48.  A total of 500 Epi 2 in different cabs. 4 cazadores.  6 Boli Gigantes.  3 punch punch cabs. But lots of one-offs as well. One cuaba small vitola. One coro, siglo 1-6. One maduro secretos and medios.  One mag 46.  One mag 56. 1 LGCMDO4.  You know...  kind of like that.

Edit; and evidently now two boxes of SPNPs. ?

The longer I smoke, the more I tend towards a few specific cigars.  75% of my purchases this last year were PLMC, HUPC, RASS and Partagas Shorts.  Partagas Presidentes are coming around the bend.

Having tried almost everything CC, I found what I like and what I find to be generally consistent.  I stick with those.  I used to prefer variety.  Now, nothing makes me happier than adding another 2 boxes of one of my regulars into the cooler.

Yeah, if I didn't love variety so much I'd be knees deep in just a couple of marcas or vitolas.  Imagine how well you'd get to know Churchills if that was the only vitola you smoked.  Or if you only focused on Punch, and you got the Punch Punch and the DC from as many different factory codes as possible; it would be fun discovering the subtle differences. :cigar:

Wow.  That's an amazing collection.  I take it the Epi 2 is your favorite stick .

Glad you asked, it made me take the time to answer a question I had been wondering about myself.

My humidor includes 11 Marcas and 19 different vitolas.  The most prominent being Julieta #2, Marevas and Robustos.  With Cohiba, Bolivar and Diplomaticos being the most dominant marcas.

I'm doing something similar with marevas as they are just my perfect size. Of course, each tends to be made in one factory only, but I can really appreciate the delivery of each blend.

I keep meaning to grab 2 from each different brand that are similar-enough in wrapper appearance and doing a little blind tasting extravaganza. After aging a year, I will try to guess the brand. I picture the wife helping with numbering and creating the master list.

Beautiful pic of the guitar! Les Paul? PRS?
