In the pipe line is a new Upmann cigar ,the Connoisseur B.

5.9 in. by 54 rg, it is another chubby, American style jaw breaker to look forward to or ignore completely.

The price I expect to be similar to the Connoisseur A, hopefully within 10%.

Will you buy these based on the size/history of the Connie A ?

Or is this a non starter for you?

I will definitely wait for reviews to come in before making any purchases. I am going to assume that pricing will be more in line with the Connie A than Connie 1. While I am not a fan of larger RGs, some are excellent so I won't write it off straight away.

If the B smokes anywhere near what the A outputs... I'm in. I hope they put out 10 bangers of these and not just 25s.

I've been underwhelmed by a few 10'ers I've bought recently, but the bright side is... Could've been worse.

Seems like HSA has been angling their latest releases and their corresponding rg's to the American market. A lot of big rg's released in the last few years. In any case, if these smoke like Siglo VIs without the premium markup they will sell a ton. I'm waiting with bated breath.

Cheers men!

Not a fan of the size...I will listen to reviews first, maybe try one and possibly buy a tenner if they are fantastic and come packaged that way, no chance if they are in 25s. The only cigar I have over 52 is a box of HU Mag56 and I've only had one from those. I don't want a bunch of gobstoppers in my cabinet, taking up space and bullying all my well behaved PCs. Biggest Caveat is they are HU and I love, LOVE the marca.

Habanos Specialist Exclusive releases tend to be garner good to excellent reviews (H.Upmann Connossieur A, Partagas Maduro No.1, Punch 48, San Cristobal de La Habana Torreon) so I would expect this H.Upmann Connossieur B to come out with positive reviews. Apart from 5 Regional Editions in the last 5 or so years, only the regular production Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo San Juan shares the same vitola, a Geniales at 54 ring gauge x 150 mm.

I think it would have to be even better that the H.Upmann Connossieur A to gain a market share. We'll see.

Little large for my preference as well, but I will give it a go. I like the Connie A and the Mag54 quite a lot so I am guessing I'll like these as well.

Buy as I do for most things, to try out and form an opinion, that's what cigars are all about, try everything, figure out what you like and go from there

Not interested in cigars of this size by default.  Really needs to be something special to garner my interest, e.g. Mag 56, and even then with reluctance.

I actually haven't had the A yet, but based on the positive feedback on that cigar, I would be interested in a B. The price is an issue for me on the A, though. There are a lot of good robustos out there for ~60-75% of the price. If the B is priced similarly to the A, I might be more inclined to take a shot.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that B won't be a carbon copy of A. If they're priced similarly, why not explore if you're a fan of the marca. The A is in my top 3 smokes for the year so I can't argue with anyone sticking with it. I'll try the B just cause I'm looking to expand my cigar experience.

I've tried smokes, including the Connie A, because of reading the experience of others here. Keep the suggestions coming men!

Cheers and happy smoking!

^^ This

If the cigars smoke similarly, no reason to go with the fatter vitola. And it will be interesting to see what sales volume is if the cigars do perform similarly. It may prove to be the best case study yet of whether the market really is demanding 53+ RG or if HSA is just pushing them on the market.
