Honestly, this and Ramon Allones are my top marcas - most of them wow me and remind me why I smoke cigars. I've gotten a bit of a Montecarlos fetish, to be completely honest.

I have tried fresh and aged (PC, MC, Pan).  Don't like them, with the exception of some REs.  I really want to like the PLMC (for that reason I have a box to try once it hits 15+ years) because the size feels so elegant in had, but a swing and a miss for all I have tried.  Yes, I have experienced the honey/sugary/caramel on occasion and enjoy that aspect, but there is something that doesn't work for me.  

Oddly enough John, My favorite marca is Bolivar (with the exception of the BRC).  Cohiba is also a fav, but no where near Bolivar.

I really enjoy PLPC and for the money, their panatelas are quite good. I've smoked many PL RE'S but still enjoy the regular production sticks more. The Montecarlo is great with some age on it.

I tip my hat to you, so to speak, for this is the wonder of our pursuit. For what is amiable to one cigar enthusiast is not to another, and therein lies the beauty of this passion, there's always the next cigar/vitola/marca to sample in the hope it bucks a personal trend. And it's magic when it does. I've had some Bolivar that I've reallly liked at times, mainly the Tubos No.1 and this leads me to persist with that marca.

You and me both, John. I struggle with liking Bolivar, but I keep trying every so often, just in case my tastes change.

Interesting.  I was going to respond to John's initial query, then saw your reply.  I'm quite the opposite: not much in Bolivar that I love with the exception of the Corona Gigantes.  Also not a lover of Cohiba with one or two exceptions.  However I fell head over heels for PL with my first Encanto and haven't looked back.  Maybe there's a palate profile that consistently sees these two in opposition?

Panatelas, Petite Coronas, Montecarlos, Lonsdales, Secretos, Picadores, Regalias de Londre, Sobresalientes, Encantos, Robustos & a few lonely Magbificos.
