and I freely admit it.  Go ahead, make fun of me.

You'll get no disagreement from me.  I love the PL Montecarlos as well as PLPC.  The panetelas are also fine smokes for the money.

Been dying to get ahold of some of the REs from this line as it's been a really good friend of mine since 2007. Lol.

Montecarlos are a really good box when you can find them.

I'd love to hear from anyone that has the opposite view, that is, they've tried and tried, but they can't get into Por Larranaga at all. We've had a few of us take such aversion to marcas such as Bolivar or Cohiba, but I'm yet to hear anyone say that they just don't like Por Larranaga.

Me? I love them...preferably aged!

Love, love, love PL's! I had my first Encantos a few weeks ago. Absolute show stopper!

PL's have such a unique flavor profile and age a dream. I have a 7 yo box of PLPC's that still pack a punch yet they are soo good I can't stop smoking them. I'd say out of all of the aged boxes I have bought, that PLPC has brought me the most enjoyment. I wish I could get my hands on a few more older PLPC cabs.

I won't be confirming anything "negative" yet but I have a 50 cab of PCs and after sampling 10 sticks I haven't had a single one that I've liked. They have been harsh, even after storing them to my preferred conditions.

I have decided to store them for a while and try them with age. I'm guessing my cab is about three years old now and I haven't had one for about 18 months.

I might try one soon and I'll let you know.

Young PLPC can pack a punch. Around the 5 year mark, they turn into pure caramel sticks.

Will have to remember to bring some aged PLs next time we catch up.

I no longer purchase the PLPC 50 cab. The last one I got (my 4th) was terrible. The cigars were very harsh for years and when this harshness was finally gone they started to lose strenght and intensity in a spectacular way…

From now I split cabs with friends, to reduce the risk. The production of this cigar is too inconsistent IMHO.

Took about 6 months for my 2016 cab to even out where I could actually enjoy them. Keep them relatively dry and they'll smoke much better IMO.

That is not good news!! I suspect that mine will be the same as yours. They haven't shown me hints of improvement yet. I'll definitely try one soon as it's been a while since I last sampled one.

For how long did you store them before sampling?

Nowadays I don't smoke anything Ive purchased for at least 6 months to a year.

With this particular cab, I smoked at 3 months and every 3 months up until 18 months, then I stopped.
