s1911 Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Never seen this before looks like a mini under the normal seal? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
SCgarman Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 It is the transport seal. I believe they are used to initially seal the box before they go to location where final government and chevron seals are placed on box. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Cigarjerk Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 There is a transit seal below, thats right. But I don't want to spred panic, but I only know seals looking like this: https://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/packaging/information Maybe I am wrong and there is a newer version. May I ask for the production date, please? Out of humidor, I checked a box of 2014 where the transit seal is visible and it shows the same seal which can be found at this website.
oliverdst Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 It looks like the small seal that comes in cigarrillas little boxes. 1
Guest Robo Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 There is a transit seal on every Habanas box. Take any box from your collection, press down with your fingernail on the warrantee seal and you will feel the transit seal below.

Its a pretty good way of telling a fake too - I've seen a number of fake boxes and none had (what I call) the under-seal-seal.
NSXCIGAR Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 This is something I've seen before on various boxes over the years. I was never that curious as to it's meaning, but I had no reason to be concerned not any reason to doubt the product's authenticity. I chalked it up to some odd thing HSA does. 1
BrightonCorgi Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 I have seen plenty of double warranty seals, but can't recall that seal the OP pictured.
ATGroom Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 A little more info on this... a CCW user sent in these pics of another strange seal under the warranty seal and over transit seal. Would have normally been invisible but for very poor warranty seal placement. Full text appears to read "CALIDAD HABANOS S.A." Calidad translates to "quality," so it doesn't seem to be too big a leap to think that these seals are placed on boxes that undergo some kind of random quality check at central warehousing before warrantee seals are placed. Also note individual serial number. Would welcome anyone with more info or alternate theory. If anyone can get a clean pic of the seal I'd like it for CCW also. Also, would be keen to hear of any other sightings with box codes so we can narrow down when these were introduced. Box is Cohiba Sig V tubos TOR OCT15.
El Presidente Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 I haven't see that before Alex. Thank you . I know there is a QC team (6-8) in the Habanos Warehouse that goes through checking boxes. There are days I swear they are vision impaired. 1

I have one that wasn't even remotely concealed. Had it's own place on the box away from everything else. Also it had like 15 plugs in it, so they didn't get that "quality" part right haha. GasGuy82 Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 I have a box of ‘03 Des Dieux with this Calidad seal

The government seal is way way off in its placement. It should be on the corner of box.

garbandz Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 it is quite a leap to think that fakers would design a seal with no relation to anything Habanos makes, but it is interesting to see this seal for the first time. I will file this nugget away gratefully, thanks.
