In the JJFox thread  luvdunhill asked/alluded to  what would be the top 10 Cigar Divan experiences in the world.

I have seen cigar divans with million(s) dollar fitouts and yet no atmosphere. I have seen ones put together on a shoestring budget and which are an absolute joy.

From the places our members have visited/spent time in. What are your favourites and is there a memorable experience you have had while there? If you have a photo, post them up.

Let's see if we can get a nice list going :ok:

I think my question was top 10 cigar experiences, which is a bit broader :)

Regardless, my favorite is Red Cigar Divan in Hong Kong and for that matter the Sheraton across the channel in Kowloon.

I like Federal Cigar in Portsmouth New Hampshire, O'Shea's in Nashua New Hampshire.

Always liked the now gone Churchill's in Boston, and also enjoy Boston's Stanza dei Sigari.

Twins is really nice place to hang out, particularly when it's less crowded. I'm there most weekends during the winter.

Although I have to admit that I could do without the 300lb bikers gnawing on pitch black, 60rg logs and angrily announcing their political opinions to the entire bar.

I stopped by Cigar and Lounge in Watertown for the firsttime this afternoon. Not bad!

When in Chicago, I hang out with Richard, the guy that runs Iwan Ries's lounge. It is really nice.

Recently in San Francisco, loved Occidental. A Cigar bar and great spot to hang out.

In Amsterdam, Didi owns The LCDH and we are still friends on Facebook etc, as I am sure he is with everyone on earth! That place is awesome.

Last one I vote number one is JJ Fox in Dublin. Matthew and spent an entire afternoon with Yiorgos, and then later dinner with Yiorgos and Mod "Ryan".

Also note, we always meet up with an FOH member!

Although not as fancy as the pics above, the lcdh in Yerevan, Armenia, is a nice place to hang out too, with a nice walk in humidor.

The lounge next to Portmann's in CH or Jimmy's lounge behind the Regent Singapore are both memorable.  The cigar service at P.G.C. Hajenius is really novel with staffs they carry cigars out of humidor with.

There are several memorable cigar divans in Hong Kong, but the one I enjoyed the most was Cigarro. The selection was quite impressive, with some rare and aged cigars for sale. The private humidors are clear allowing you to see what is stored inside. Some very impressive collections. Nice comfortable chairs and friendly staff too.

Have you been to Casa de Montecristo in Chicago? Looks like they are opening one in Austin, TX and curious if the experience will be similar.

Chardonnay Cigar bar in Tokyo is brilliant. Basically you get out of Harajuku station, and about 300 meters on the way out of the station walking toward Omantesando Hills look for a sign left into a basement bar.   Nothing beats Japanese class and hospitality. The guys behind the bar are excellent and give you an experience of attentment that is similar to the barman in the Shining.  Served fine bitter chocolate thins and all sort of wonderful epicurean snacks on the house, and the prices were pretty good (10 yrs ago). Great cigar and booze menu. Had lots of deleted stock when I was there last.

Great place to get out of the hustle and bustle off the main drag,,,,,,,,,, and errrrm have the 'MAIN' drag

Enjoy     PS other peoples places look wonderful, can't wait to hunt them down.

One of the best things about these places is you get one of two things. It to watch noobs panic buy "gorilla thumbs' as Ken puts it, and then turn green and leave in haste, or you meet a like mind and have a great chat.
