Smoker Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-39318602 Huge fan of Chuck Berry's music. Together, he and Johnnie Johnson changed the face of 20th century music forever. I was lucky enough to have seen Chuck Berry in concert a few times, when he played in London. I'm 37, so unfortunately didn't get to see him in his heyday, but I listen to Chuck Berry songs in my car on most days. Didn't everyone grow up listening to these songs?? I can't think of a more recognisable artist really...when you hear a Chuck Berry song, you know what you're listening to straight away. I'm looking forward to the latest album - hope it still gets released! 1
joeruby Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 One of the early pioneers of rock, truly innovative, inspired many greats with his guitar riffs. RIP Chuck
OZCUBAN Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 A true pioneer his guitar licks are stuff of legend R.I.P Chuck rock and roll never forgets as the song says ?
dominattorney Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 Tell the folks back home it's just the promised land calling. 2
gweilgi Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 I was surprised, actually ... thought he'd passed a long time ago! Hugely influential, hugely enjoyable, and a major source of regret that I was born too late to see him in his glory days (I blame my parents). If we say that Rock'n'Roll will never die, it's Chuck Berry that made it so. Not sure whether he'll make it to heaven, but wherever he goes, the music will be good and loud.... 1
Fuzz Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 Damn. Love his music when I was growing up, and still do. Always crank up the volume when one of his songs comes up on the radio. RIP Chuck. 2
Akela3rd Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 Legend. Trailblazer. Put the fun into rock & roll. Without his influence music today would sound very different.Thunder & Lightening '75-'15
