I don't see a lot about this marca and I've never tried them so I'm curious, for those that have, what are the major flavor profiles that you see across the line? What vitola do you recommend? What would you compare it to?

Bit off topic, but...

Hananos SA Website:
"They are made with filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo zone."

Cuban Cigar Website:
"The range consists of full strength cigars, using a blend of tobaccos from the Vuelta Abajo and the Semi Vuelta regions."

Can anyone confirm or deny whether tobacco from Semi Vuelta is used in SLR?

To answer original post, I have tried and very much liked the Serie A.

Not necessarily a contradiction, since Semivuelta is frequently included as part of Vuelta Abajo. Matter of definition.

I heard the Semivuelta statement as well, but can't quite remember where. Indication of ingredients is always missing on the boxes.... lol.

I don't know much about them either, and about the only one I do hear mentioned most is the Regios (5x48).  I've had a couple within the last couple months, and may still have 1 or 2 that I got from an individual in some sort trade, but to be honest, I don't remember much about it.  I don't know if that's good or bad.  What I can remember from the couple I've had is, it wasn't bad, and it had good construction...because I would remember if it failed in either of those areas.  I think I smoked 1 on my morning commute, and don't recall it being too strong (for me) to not be a morning/mid-morning smoke.

Everything apart from the Regios is like hen's teeth. Good luck finding any.

Regios are decent "Smoke Now" cigars. Sweet, creamy maybe a little fruity. I wouldn't say "Full" by any stretch, but then again I don't find Bolivar full bodied.

I had bad luck with the serie a.  I think it was just poor luck and not the marca, but never looked back on buying more.

DC - my all time fav cigar.  No question.  Pm me your address

I've only had 1 and it was a single that I tacked onto another order for the same reason as you. I had never had one or even heard anyone talk about them. My choice was a Serie A. Along with other lesser mentioned sticks, it arrived. It didn't look like anything special but it was actually very good.

I remember it well. I took the afternoon off to go fishing by myself. I lit the cigar as I was getting out of the truck at the ramp to dock my boat. I hop in the boat, fire up the engine and back off the trailer. As I get up to drop the trolling motor to go to the dock, I realize I have no power and I'm broadside in the slip. It was a very long day but the cigar was good. It was mild and nutty, almond if I had to choose. Also slightly sweet and had a hint of vanilla. I would definitely take a box of them.

My thoughts echoes @Fugu. In regards to availability,  it has been mentioned in another thread that the Habanos S.A. website only lists the Regio in current production. (Then again, if you're concerned that the Double Corona is missing from their current on-line catalogue, and the Serie A, take heart, the SCdLH El Morro and LGC Medaille d'Or No.2 is too, although the H.Upmann Sir Winston is in the catalogue)

The Saint Luis Rey Double Corona has been in production hiatus (possibly deleted) for the past 2 years at least, possibly 3. The Serie A has not been since mid-year 2016, perhaps a little longer. Best of luck to you if you can grab a box of both or either.

When I could get them I loved SLR, the Petite Corona was amazing, the DC is the best DC I smoke, the Lonsdale was the best in that format to me.

But as others have said they sadly have gone away. I go back and forth on the Regio vs the Series A as to which I prefer....mainly because they are both shadows of the rest of the line.

I did see a box of LCdH limited edition SLR last week in the Melia Cohiba hotel LCdH display, but they wanted me to buy some special edition humidor to get the 10 stick box...would have come out to $450 USD so no deal.

Great stick to try if you like Ramon Allones, Vegas Rob or San Cristobal

I really like the Regios which are smokeable pretty much right of the truck.  I like the Serie A, but not as much as the Regios.  I like the DC very much but they require a lot of downtime.  I find all to have the floral notes some have mentioned, particularly the Regios.  It did take me awhile to appreciate the SLR, but one of my favs now

SLR = Stonefruit (apricots), with a pinch of salt.  On the fuller side of medium body.  I bought a fiver of Serie A about 2 years ago and they smoked great.

i loved the coronas and petit coronas and lonsdales. (especially cabs)

I liked the churchill too, especially the tubos.

the dc never did anything for me, whether from 01, 05, or any year.

the regios (db) are good but sadly no more 50 cabs.

I purchased a dress box of the Serie A in cuba in November.

They had 50 cabs in 2015 but I did not buy any then.  when these are on they are ON.

Best,

Had a regios a little under a year old the other day and was underwhelmed. I'm sure it needs more time down the the flavors were muted and less clear. Construction was good though.

Smoking a '14 Serie A, as I write this.

I went through maybe ten 50-cabs over the years, from the  '97's  and 98's to 08's. And I am glad I smoked (and not saved) every single one.  So good.  They are (t)here to be enjoyed/smoked

Back in '03, there were abundant 50-cabs of Lonsdales Churchills and Regios and Serie A's. Most were 1998's.

I thought they would never run out, or d/c them.

I prefer all the above over any new fat cigar, and over most over-priced RE's.

An under the radar brand that delivers, and ages well.

The Serie A are great. 5 yrs in they are immaculate. I was under the false impression they were discontinued yrs ago so have been buying 1 dress box a year from each year 2011-15 and have a 50 cab from '08 I'm currently smoking through.

Great cigars worthy of your time.

I had a SLR regios last night I had from a sampler. The construction was good, but It wasn't anything to write home about. I wish I had a few more to smoke for consistency.
