Over the last 6 years or so I've checked maybe twice.  ...but I live between the high desert and the Serria Mountains, so the mean average ambient  RH is probably around 15%.  As a result, I'm always trying to make sure my humidors are kept up to 60% RH, which is a chore.

Absolutely never. My storage is rock solid at 65% and the only mold I ever had was in freshly received boxes, particularly from France or back when I was still ordering from one of the most popular online grey market vendors (no, not Ravi).

Funny this came up. I was playing Xmas Tetris in my Tupperdor today when I decided to look into a Mar 15 box of Upmann 2s and came across a few spots of mold. This was the first time I'd ever had homegrown mold so I did a quick glance at a few others with no signs of concern. I'm not overly worried at this point and certainly don't have the room right now to beef up my hygro-security so I suppose I'll just be a little more vigilant from now on. It's generally at the 65/68degree mark.

I do a quick check about once a year, even though I've never seen the slightest spot of mold, ever. Given that I've got a constant 65% and 17º C, I'm thinking I'll just stop checking one of these days... There really doesn't seem to be any point.

With NJ swinging around more than most places in terms of temp and rh, just do it.

Same thing I was thinking. It stays around 62-63 degrees where I keep the cabinet right now and I have it set at 65% but still.

As long as my RH stays in range without mishaps, I don't specifically check for mold. There would be no reason to.

But I'm usually more concerned about beetles because of the hot climate, so I quarantine and I inspect every 4-6 months. Never found a breakout, or any mold.

About 3 times a year I open and rotate the stock in my "ageing" wineador. The boxes in my "smoking" fridge usually get opened more frequently than that as I look through and decide what to smoke.

My temp and rh is as rock steady as all of yours, I still see mold occasionally. It is incredible that so many here have said they never see mold...

Never in 10 years... keep my cigars at 59-61rh. Never had an issue -

Never specifically for mould. I occasionally check certain boxes for their development. I guess I have got boxes untouched for >5 years, and likely some overlooked ones much longer.....

I check everything.

every 90 days, have a couple boxes trying to become a science experiment...........

both are '15s

Never have issues with mold, but I will do an inventory check and rearrangement 2-3 times a year. As the stock grows, that number has shrunk from 4-5 times a year.

I have not seen mold as of yet...knock on wood!  RH is 62% most of the year with a small fluctuation.  I rotate and look at my cigars several times a year, mostly to just look and smell the barnyard.  Not specifically a mold check unless it is my subconscious calling me.  Who knows.... hope my record stays where it is.

Now you guys got me worried...great!

I don't know how often, but when I'm rummaging around my humis and/or doing the tetris thing I check random boxes. So far, so good. My rh is 66-68, and temp is always 68.
