The one thing I hate about Christmas is being asked "what would you like".

I honestly don't need nor want anything....but that doesn't wash with loved ones.

If I come across something during the year that I do want....I buy it "within reason". if I can't afford it I am not about to put it on a christmas wish list :D

So the questions have started....one/two/five/ten.  I don't even have one!

In order to get some ideas....and no doubt many of you are in the same situation....what is on your Christmas list for 2016?

..Apparently I have until Monday to decide so help a brother out :cofcig:

My Christmas Wishlist is for everyone in my family to eat, drink and be merry on Christmas day. Hopefully, all my nephews and nieces will have a great time swimming and then I'll retire at the end of

Socks and underwear! As a kid hated getting these gifts as an adult it's awesome getting new supply every year

This. My grail watch.

As a fellow angler I feel you cannot go wrong with more, better fishing gear. There is always something new out there that will be of interest. Am asking for a new rod case as my old one is looking rather barbaric.

Same.

Exact.

Situation..

Wife puts a stop to my spending around this time each year so there's a chance she'll buy something I want. It's terrible I know. There is literally nothing material that I might want. Amazingly blessed.. I'm going to ask her to make something for me this year. By hand.  ...and I don't care if she colors it with crayons. It'd be that I keep when the latest Appley thing gets tossed in the bin 2 years hence from obsolescence. I hand make something for her each year too, gotta find that true spirit of Christmas once again.

My mom asked my brother and I that over Thanksgiving.  Truth is I don't need anything although I have a long list of things I'd like to have.

I said a Ruger super Redhawk in 44 Magnum.  Eyes were rolled in my general direction and then the question wasn't directed at me anymore.

On the plus side, if I ask for a gun the question stops lol.

Wife and I don't exchange gifts for this very reason.  But other relatives can't wrap their heads around that, so they end up getting me overpriced cooking items.  Shun knives, Le Creuset braisers, etc.  I'm always open to an 18 year whiskey I don't own.

Splitting Axe and the new Slaves album. Hints sent to the in-laws and son respectively. So go for something you have little need for but want, or music.
And I always get myself something "From Santa" - this year it's a cab of HdM du Prince, which will be lovingly wrapped and buried under the tree.

What makes it trickier is in my house cigars are not allowed as gifts ("you already have too many cigars") , and fishing gear is not permitted ("you already have too many rods and reels"). This limits it significantly for me. I, for some reason, am able to get away w cigar accessories (lighters, cutters, ashtrays). As a result I have WAY too many of those. This year I am asking for Davidoff scissors. A bit of a frivolous purchase but always wanted them and I'm running out of options.

I also cook alot and ask for cooking stuff alot. As a result I have more knives and cooking tools than most restaurants.

Head over to Uncrate, Coolmaterial or Gearpatrol and you will absolutely amazed at how much stuff you don't have and all of a sudden require immediately.

For you though, I would head to bestmadeco and look up the Makiri Fisherman's knife.

It's legit, not overpriced and down right awesome.

You're welcome.

Have them locate a Lada for you! Tell them you'll pay for it, the present would be in finding one you could actually get your hands on..

I've given a gift animal in someone else's name to "Heifer International"   I suppose I could suggest that when I'm asked what I want.

I don't need anything.     I would rather see someone who really needs it get something.

I like the way Heifer Int. does it.  The recipient is asked to give the first born animal to someone else.  The gift keeps giving.

 Pay it forward philosophy.

Have you found any?  That's on my list too and other than flying to Havana and visiting Hotel Nacional ,  I don't know where to find one.  Wife is on board with getting me a really nice  one, but I just can't point her in the right direction .

When I ask my family what they want for Christmas I always preface it with the statement "if you say 'nothing' or 'I don't know' you'll be getting a Justin Bieber CD"

I've asked for a nice IM Corona Old boy for my pipe smoking
I have a handful of high quality cigar lighters but am still lighting my pipes with a bic

We stopped asking years ago since we buy all year long anyways what we want or need. For the grandkids it's a different story.Other than that we have a good dinner and reflect back  and be thankful for the good year we've had.

A box of cigars (-:   :-)my choice!

JBL Extreme

Four Roses Single Barrel

Aberlour A’bunadh

Balvenie Caribbean Cask

I drink too much :buddies:

Good choices.   I have been through a couple bottles of the Aberlour and love it.  The Balvenie is awesome as well and I have 1/4 bottle left in the cab. Have had the Four Roses, but not tried the JBL.  I bought myself a Marshall Stanmore a couple months ago and it has been fantastic, so I'm set in that regard...

Good Luck!

Thanks. I actually considered the Stanmore, nice system. What attracted me to the JBL is the output is quite rich and has some kick if you need it, but more importantly is that you can pair two of them together into stereo mode using JBL connect. Of course it doesn't hurt that it has 15 hours battery life, can charge 2 devices from it's two USB ports, and is relatively splash proof.
