Any oblections to a New world review?

So having recently entered the world of cigars in a more serious manner (I've had a few CC's before but only now taking it what you may consider seriously) i have also "discovered" the New World range of cigars.

My small budget to spend on cigars normally pulls me towards cheaper CC's like Party MF or RyJ MF (although i try to pick up duty free wherever i can) at this lower end of price range, I often find myself looking at and purchasing from the new world ranges like Alec Bradley or L'Atelier.

Dont get me wrong, in my opinion the absolute finest cigars i have had come from Cuba. No doubt about it, nothing can match or come close to them.

However there is a place for the NW offerings (Cameroon, Nigaragua...)

Would anyone like to hear or read my review of the ones i have tried so far? Or should i keep it strictly to CC's only?!

Just this evening I enjoyed an Oliva Series G from Cameroon. Something i'd love to post my opinion and review of on here, but as i'm new dont want to put my foot out of line!

Please take no personal offense.  I'm speaking for myself.  I'm here because I discovered the world of CC's five years ago after searching the world over for a decent NC. Never found one to match the worst CC I've ever had.

I would have to agree although with the utmost respect for your desire to review NC's. This forum is the best source for information on Cuban Cigars. I would not want to ever see the threads get clogged up with reviews and discussions about NC's. The forum would lose value, IMHO

While this is a forum called Friends of Habanos, it in no way passes judgement on your tastes of cigars. The motto is Friendship, fraternity, laughter and loyalty. That is all. Smoke what you enjoy, share what you enjoy. Throw up whatever you wish to review in the reviews section. Most of all, have a good time.

nothing wrong with reviewing cigars produced outside of Cuba

cigars produced from outside of Cuba are regularly referred to and, for lack of better term, belittled here

New poster.  First post.  Wants to post review of NC's on a Habano forum.  Asked for opinions as to whether he should post reviews of NC's.  I gave my opinion.  Not a "yank" thing.  My opinion is I don't care to read anything about NC's, which are crap, in my opinion, on a Habano forum. There are plenty of NC forums on the internet for him to post his reviews. 

Has nothing to do with STARS AND "STRIPS", my friend.

Did I miss something? Isn't this site called Friends of Habanos? I don't think anyone told him what to do but he asked and IMHO if he was going to do reviews on NC then to probably do it on the review section of the forum. Seemed to make sense. Why does FOH need a US IP address though? I thought we were all brothers here and everyone was welcome as long as we share the same affection for Cuban Cigars?

Well that was pleasant and respectful.  Hope you feel better. Oh, and you misspelled the word "STRIPES".  You see, we yanks don't appreciate slights like that when a lot of us have lost family members defending those STARS & STRIPES.  Just sayin' sport.

or it could simply be members of an international forum expressing differing views on a relevant topic - one of the joys of this forum. personally, i have no interest in NCs but i have no problem with others enjoying them (or not). for me, i would think it makes sense to allow them though i'd prefer to see a separate section so those interested can review and discuss to their heart's content and those not interested are never bothered. we should remember that a great many members have been only able to smoke NCs, at least legally, for decades. many would have considerable knowledge. seems silly to waste it, when there are members keen to learn more.

i have no idea why anyone would think that this is an attack on america. or by america.

to our friend who first posted (unless you are a retailer trying to promote NCs, in which case you'll last about as long as a plugged cigar), have a look around the forum and introduce yourself in the usual manner. drop rob a note to see his thoughts. and take it from there.

and to everyone else, may i just say that it is a sad day when i have to be the voice of reason. back to the giant spiders.

FOH is a very open forum, and I am grateful to our hosts for that. Though of course its foundations are built on our love for Cuban cigars, there is nothing wrong with a NC review IMHO. And if it were just for the sake of comparison, contrasting view and debate (we get to see the odd one in the Daily Smoke anyway). Though personally I don't care much for NCs, I would not mind the occasional NC review, as I can simply decide for myself whether or not to skip it (by the same token, I am by far not reading every CC review on here....). No need to fear a 'friendly takeover', as the products will speak for themselves. Keep an open mind, there's always something to learn.

I don't smoke NC cigars anymore, but I enjoy reading peoples stories.  When someone shares an experience, I don't have to enjoy the cigar to enjoy the experience.  The Prez sold some of hamlet's NCs and no one complained about that.  Maybe they did, I didn't notice.  Some folks enjoy the backstory as much as the cigar and the Hamlet backstory is pretty awesome.
