Charlotte the spider has been described as a "beautiful, calm spider living in peace" after she was found in Queensland a year ago. The images are now going viral on social media. Ken Gargett Posted November 3, 2016 Author Posted November 3, 2016 can't see any problems with anything eating browns. a few nights ago, a carpet python, about three metres, moved into the garage. provided i don't accidently step on it, it will go away when there are no more mice, geckos or other snakes. they'll eat smaller browns. only drama is that it has knocked over a few bottles. knocked some off a shelf and no idea how they didn't break.

Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk pretty much. or perhaps it would be more accurate to say that charlotte wants zero to do with humans and would prefer to be left alone and if left alone, will be a happy inoffensive spider. they can bite but they are not in the deadly category. but what creature won't defend itself if it needs to? 1

One time while driving it crawled up my neck, over my headabd by the time I parked the car, it was across my sunglasses. I took off the glasses and tipped spidey into the garden bed next to the car. When I returned from errands, spider is still sitting in the garden where I left it, looking forlorn. Feeling pity for it I picked it up and popped it back in the car.Oh and red belly blacks perform a community service by eating browns. Beautiful shy creatures they are.

After I read about those I had a nightmare I was doing my thing and one bit me on my rear and I couldn't get up! Also exclusively an Australia thing? I always though scorpions were bad, but they are maybe a couple of inches long. That spider is the size of a small dog!
PigFish Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 Thanks for sharing Ken... I am a notorious bug killer, but that critter is pretty cool. I think that spider belongs in a museum and as long as it did not piss me off, I would let it do its thing and not introduce it to 7-1/2 shot! -Piggy 3

cigcars Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 ONLY if the spider is not an enormous monstrosity like THAT one, spiders are welcome to stay in and outside my domicile (and as long as it's not in the way). When I got out on my own in the world and would see a spider web safely tucked into a corner, my first move was of course to kill and take it down. But as I got closer I saw ALL THOSE little flying critters caught in its web...critters that could have decided my ear would be a nice habitat for them or something! So I figured, you know - they're earning their keep. So I let them stay, and despite people coming to visit who remark, "You've got Charlotte's Web out here!!" And by the way - WHAT THE HELL IS THAT ON THAT YOUNG GIRL'S NECK in the picture with that spider!!???

Big, but not humongous. 1
