Are they doing Magnums of all even numbered ring gauges between 46 and 60?

I love the Mag50, so I definitely wouldn't mind a Mag48 and/or Mag52, if the flavour profile is about the same. The more, the merrier! :D

I would be inclined to agree. The 56 was a great cigar and the 46 and 50 are good. They had a 48 for a EL. What's next, the Magnum 52? I am going to wait it out before spending good money on such a short cigar.

Very poor value IMO. Have always loved the 46, and recently fell in love with the 50s. Won't be buying any of these.

Just not in a hurry until I hear some feedback on what people think about it. While I like the Vigia, the current trend of larger ring gauges in smaller length cigars doesn't appeal to me overall.

I thought it was bigger. Did they cut it in half?

Ugh...just come out with a new lonsdale or especiales no.2 and I'll be happy. There are no skinnies in the HU lineup and we get this crap?

I second this. Haven't smoked the whole line but I enjoy the 46

The Magnum 46 is 143 mm in length, the Magnum 50 is 160 mm in length, the Magnum 56 LE is 150 mm in length, yet the Magnum 54 is 120 mm in length?

Yeah, makes no sense.

Of course I concur, but if the closest thing to a long and skinny in the H.Upmann line was made available again, the Sir Winston, a lot of us would be very happy!

Wait the Sir Winston is not discontinued. Apparently there used to be some skinnies.

Aah...'made available' again meaning that it got its periodical re-release, like the La Gloria Cubana Medaille d'Or No.2. The Sir Winston is definitely not discontinued.

All I know is now that we have a CC with 3 bands I'm excited for whatever cigar has 4 bands on it. Can't wait for the 2026 EL Magnum 70 which will no doubt have 5 bands and will give you a dislocated jaw trying to smoke it.

But we all know that more bands means the cigar is better, right? Plus a larger ring gauge allows for greater expansion of the smoke in your mouth leading to increased pepper and other complex spices. Sounds like the Magnum 70 will also be two inches long. An ideal smoke for those that want power but don't have the time.

In all honesty I really thought HSA were thinking straight and would release the Magnum 56 blend in regular production; call it Mag 54, only difference a slightly smaller (more palatable) ring gauge.

Back to sniffing glue I go.

Always my thoughts as well of these crippled formats. Feels like a cigar bereft of its best half while requesting full price.

But ppl buy, otherwise they would stop making this s6ite.

I very much enjoy the Mag 46 and keep cabinets on hand. I have some Mag 50 and Mag 56 EL resting to give a try in a few weeks (maybe even today since the weather seems to be cooperating over here). I know these are newly released, but has anyone tried? Thoughts compared to the rest of the Magnum line?

Thanks.

I've had a box of 54's in my possession for a month now. Bought it last month in Havana at the LCDH on 5th y 16. Carlos dug it out for me. He also grabbed me box of the Hoyo Elegantes. Can check box code later if anyone wants to know them.

Anything to do with the actual taste, as far as the rest of the Magnum line, IMO would be mostly confirmation bias and not classic Upmann.  But the Mag 56 EL is an awful waste of tobacco to me, so take with a couple salt shakers.  I'd love to be wrong, but at this point I'm not even cautiously optimistic. Just depressed.

Smoked one while in Havana.
I also smoked a fresh 46 that day too for comparison. I would say the 54 was almost like a lighter version of the 46. It has much of the same characteristics, but just didn't do much for me. They need a touch more flavorful seco in that blend to get me to buy.
