cakeanddottle Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 My favorites are SLR Regios, SLR Serie A, ERdM Choix Supreme, Monte PE, RGPC and SCdLH El Principe. I really like all of those. Cohiba Robusto too, but too expensive for me. I smoked a box of and enjoyed the following but not enough to hoard: RASS, RASCC, RyJ Ex4, VR Unicos, Punch Punch. I didn't care much for: Boli Beli, Parti Shorts, HUHC. In fact I did not love any Partagas I smoked. What's left for me to try given what I like? Boli PC? PLPC? Trinidad? HU Majestic? HU Mag46? QdO Coronas? I tend to like dark flavors, tobacco, coffee bean and cocoa. I also like when I get fruit notes, whether that means citrus or stone fruit. I'm at the point now where I'd be pretty happy as long as I had Monte PE, SLRR and RGPC in the humidor, but I don't want to miss anything that I'd really like. Appreciate your suggestions. 1
NSXCIGAR Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 HUPC are really delivering right now. Look for LUB codes. I'd skip the Majestic and go straight for the PC. PLPC seems to have declined in 15. 13-14 are still excellent, as are the Montecarlos. SC La Fuerza are performing well, and a shout out to 14 & 15 Monte 5. And the 15 Boli CG is shaping up to be a classic. 1
gweilgi Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 If you like the VR Unicos, why not give the Famosos a try? 1

They come in 10s so the price point is a little more palatable. 3

RACA are deliciously dark while still surprising you with lighter hits of fruit while staying classy the whole way through. Great again potential too.
earthson Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Have you tried an RyJ Churchill yet? Simply decadent (based upon your ideal flavor profile). Time to start buying samplers/singles!

The la Fuerza is an excellent choice. And, take a gander at the QdO corona. 1
ksblazer Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Another vote for the San Cristobal La Fuerza If you like the El Principe, I'm sure you will enjoy the La Fuerza as well. At least I do 1
cakeanddottle Posted July 12, 2016 Author Posted July 12, 2016 how about Sancho Nonplus and Upmann Corona Majors? 2
cigaraholic Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 As I always say....try everything, you never know what'll tickle your fancy. What's really important is to get good quality examples. Get off to a bad start and you may never go back. You seem to like medium bodied cigars and the Monte flavor profile. The Mag 50 can deliver some stone fruit flavor, if it's not too big a cigar for you. QdO and PL ring the medium bell. They really shine with age, so you might want to try the Montecarlos, it hits the ground running, like the Regios. 1
PigFish Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 Cigars are not done justice by a catalogue. Advice from friends is merely potential assistance, and sometimes a hindrance. Cigars are personal, evolutionary and not necessarily consistent nor constant. Try whatever peaks your curiosity. My advice is that you limit your "expensive" cigar budget to a small percentage unless that is what you really like. I am happy that I like regular production cigars. I would be in trouble otherwise. Tabacuba is regularly trying to eliminate me as a customer, but I hang in there as long as there are a few favorites to stock, a range of PCs and sub-PC cigars. Best of luck on your hunt. -the Pig 1
