rickthecabbie Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 That's usually how these threads usually start right? Well, that's how my day started. Let me say that Bob is just as nice and professional as I have read here and everywhere. Long story short, I put in an order for and End Table Humidor with an external drawer, Glass top, and raised panel door. Now comes the hardest part, the waiting. So, as I sit here waiting for Christmas in 6 to 8 weeks if you are an Aristocrat owner, post a picture please and help me through this Long Dark Teatime of The Soul. Let me know how you like yours, what I should watch out for if anything, and what you would suggest I fill it with. On the filling topic, I've only been smoking cigars regularly since last February, I love the Cohiba Panetelas, and the Monte Puritos, So far I like things in the Mild to Medium body range, so maybe you have a suggestion to help me get over my "fear of the dark." Thanks in advance. Rick 2
joeypots Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Aristocrat Plus. You won't regret it. I'm not a fan of the glass panel door but that's just me. If you don't yet have a handle on what you want to buy, get samplers and start trading. When you buy boxes, buy two. One to smoke now and one to smoke later. Once the humidor is filled, you can start to buy one at a time and you'll have a handle on what you like. You'll also start to appreciate what time does to Cuban cigars. If you are the compulsive type, buy big. Welcome to the dark side.... 4
Popular Post planetary Posted June 18, 2016 Popular Post Posted June 18, 2016 I have a MXT 26.5 with THC, and love it. It took about 2 months from order to delivery, in my case. With a humidor like this, you are in a position to buy some stock and age it well, and with confidence. So I'd steer at least some percentage of your choices to those with excellent aging potential, to compliment cigars which are great in their first several years. 8

I bought mine in 2013 wished I got the temperature controls living in Florida. I got the glass doors on my 42 majestic, looking to get solid doors now if it's possible.

As for the top, I'm not too worried about it being glass, I want to be able to see my singles in the external drawer without having to open it up. 1
stogieluver Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 I've had my Aristocrat M Plus for two years this month. Absolutely love it. It maintains a steady 63-65% rH and the room I have it in runs between 70-72 dF. Bob is a straight up guy who does what he says he'll do and he and his team build an heirloom quality product. 4

I called Bob this morning, and he said in a couple of week it should be finished. Today marks 5 weeks since my first conversation with him, so it looks like his original 6-8 week quote will be right on the mark. 1
Graceland Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 I am soooooo jealous of you........ me with my crappy tupperwarenator thingie..... Enjoy the ride, I hope to be talking to Bob in a year
rickthecabbie Posted August 5, 2016 Author Posted August 5, 2016 2 week after the previous update Update: Yep, I got another update from Bob today, so I thought I would share. As we spoke this afternoon, they were fitting the wiring into my cabinet. He mentioned that the raised panel for the door was still in the Finishing Room. It should be ready to ship out around Monday 8-8-2016. I did ask him to send me a picture before he shipped it out, but if he was too busy not to worry about it, so we shall see. 2

Forgive me Planetary but I did chuckle a bit. I think everyone has those loose singles drawers and they're almost always half twisted in the humi. Nice setup sir! 1
rickthecabbie Posted August 10, 2016 Author Posted August 10, 2016 Got the first pic from Bob today, They ran it over the weekend, and it passed all tests. It's a bit dusty, but they will be cleaning it and packing it up tomorrow. More pix to come soon. 1
rickthecabbie Posted August 11, 2016 Author Posted August 11, 2016 Another pic from Bob today and my humidor has been shipped. Tracking is showing that it will be delivered in Portland on Tuesday 8/15/2016. 4
bigfunkyg Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Almost there!!! Here is my MXT 26.5 that was purchased in 2012. Never regretted it for a minute, just wish I have been more successful and filling it up. I'm pretty good at emptying it. 4
BMWBen Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Great looking set ups in this thread, bob really does some nice work 1
rickthecabbie Posted August 17, 2016 Author Posted August 17, 2016 The wait is over, now comes the expensive part, The Filling; Fed Ex screwed up on the delivery, so I took the liberty of picking my new Aristocrat up at the depot. It was worth the effort just to avoid waiting another 24 hours. I may be 47 years old, but I still have the patience of an 8 year old. Here are the pix, more later. 1
Akela3rd Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Well worth the wait. Happy shopping! Sent from my HTC One M8s using Tapatalk 1
